"Qt Group is a global software company, trusted by industry leaders and over 1.5 million developers worldwide to create applications and smart devices that users love. We help our customers to increase productivity through the entire product development lifecycle: from UI design and software development to quality management and deployment. Boot to Qt is a lightweight, Qt-optimized, full software stack for embedded Linux systems that is installed into the actual target device. The Boot to Qt Software Stack uses the traditional embedded Linux kernel built with Poky, the reference distribution of Yocto Project. The software stack is designed for great customization possibilities. It contains only components required in the embedded device, resulting in smaller image sizes while keeping valuable development tools available."
Develop Scalable Embedded Systems with Dedicated End-to-end Tooling using Boot to Qt. Qt offers a unified framework for delivering a consistently branded user experience across different platforms. By coding once and deploying anywhere, you save time, ensure a consistent look-and-feel, and reduce dependency on hardware suppliers. With its broad coverage of industry-grade use cases, Qt delivers out-of-the-box UI components and functionality for the creation of modern, fluid, and dynamic 2D and 3D UIs on any device. Boot to Qt with Creator IDE features include: -Pre-built prototyping stack for embedded Linux, based on Yocto project -Includes Yocto recipes for building the latest Qt versions -No-setup USB communication from Qt Creator IDE to target device -Ready to use, one-click build-deploy-and-run and remote debugging Qt embedded development is typically done in a cross-compilation environment where development tools such as Qt Creator IDE are used in a development host while the embedded hardware is used as a separate target device connected to the development host with cables. In AWS, the target device is an EC2 instance running the Boot to Qt AMI, and the development host can be either local machine or a separate EC2 instance. You can also use AWS Workspaces for the host side, again on top of the EC2 service. Development host usage requires a separate Qt Device Creation license. Once you are ready with development and need to test with real hardware, you can enjoy the comprehensive hardware support of the Qt framework. You can deploy different kinds of projects on your Boot to Qt EC2 instance such as Qt Examples for easy start and projects that you have created yourself with your custom code. You can use Qt Creator's project wizard and create a new Qt Quick project, build and run the project, and deploy it to an EC2 instance.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Try this product free for 5 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance you run Boot to Qt on. Pricing scales with the compute size you select, not with a software tier. The options fall into three instance families. The t4g line spans nano, micro, small, medium, and large sizes for lighter workloads. The a1 line covers medium, large, and xlarge sizes. The g5g line offers graphics-capable sizes from xlarge through 2xlarge, 4xlarge, 8xlarge, and a bare-metal option. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates. You control cost by choosing the instance that fits your build needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance option?
The hourly rate covers the Boot to Qt software stack running on the EC2 instance you pick. The instance families map to different hardware: t4g runs on Arm-based general-purpose compute, a1 uses Arm cores, and g5g adds graphics acceleration. You choose the size that matches your build workload.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges apply per hour while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing hourly software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the Boot to Qt software meters running time only. You control cost by stopping instances when idle.
Does moving to a larger instance size change how I am billed?
Billing stays hourly for every size. Moving from a smaller to a larger instance raises the hourly rate for the new size. The change is not automatic. You stop the current instance and launch the size you want. You pay the rate tied to whichever size runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
