AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour for Apache Cassandra running on SUSE SLES 15. Pricing scales with the EC2 instance type you choose. The 12 options fall into families: t3 burstable instances (medium, large, xlarge), m5 and m6i general-purpose instances (large and xlarge sizes), r5 and r6i memory-focused instances (large), and c5 compute-focused instances (large, xlarge, 2xlarge). Larger sizes and more powerful families carry higher hourly rates. You only pay while the instance runs, with no long-term commitment. Software charges are billed through AWS.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What resources do I get with each hourly instance type, like t3.large or c5.2xlarge?
Each option maps to an AWS EC2 instance type. The instance type sets your virtual CPU and memory. t3 types are burstable, m5 and m6i balance CPU and memory, r5 and r6i favor memory, and c5 favors CPU. Larger sizes add more vCPU and memory.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or not running?
You pay software charges only while the instance runs. If the instance is not running, there is no charge. There is no long-term commitment; you subscribe only for the time you need. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes.
Do I pay Cloudwrxs directly, and are software licenses included in the image?
You do not pay Cloudwrxs directly. Any payment is collected through the cloud provider, AWS, on your bill. Where a license is required, Cloudwrxs notes it in the product listing. Your hourly charge combines the software rate with the underlying AWS instance cost.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Additional details
Usage instructions
Launching the EC2 Instance
1.1. Navigate to the AWS EC2 Console - click Launch Instance
1.2. Select the AMI: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP5 (x86_64)
1.3. Choose an instance type, e.g., m6i.large or larger.
1.4. Create or select an existing SSH Key Pair:
Save the .pem private key securely
This key will be used for SSH access
1.5. Configure the Security Group:
Allow SSH (port 22) inbound access (preferably restricted to your IP)
Allow Cassandra port 9042 (CQL) inbound only if remote access is needed - limit by IP
1.6. Launch the instance
Connecting to the EC2 Instance
2.1. Connection Prerequisites
Ensure you have your SSH private key (.pem) file available
You must log in to the server using the default user: ec2-user
The server uses key-based authentication only:
Password login is disabled (PasswordAuthentication no)
Root login is disabled (PermitRootLogin no)
SSH is available on port 22
2.2. For Linux/macOS Users (Terminal)
ssh -i /path/to/your-key.pem ec2-user@<EC2_Public_IP>
Replace /path/to/your-key.pem with the correct key path
Replace <EC2_Public_IP> with your instance public IP
If needed, fix permissions:
chmod 400 /path/to/your-key.pem
2.3. For Windows Users (Using PuTTY)
Convert .pem to .ppk using PuTTYgen
In PuTTY:
Host Name: ec2-user@<EC2_Public_IP>
Port: 22
Under Connection - SSH - Auth, load your .ppk private key
Accessing Apache Cassandra
3.1. Once logged in, verify Cassandra is running:
cassandra -v
sudo systemctl status cassandra
3.2. Connect to Cassandra shell (CQL):
cqlsh
