SearXNG Privacy Focused Search Platform on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS Supported by Zillicode provides a preconfigured environment for deploying the open source SearXNG metasearch platform on Amazon EC2. SearXNG is a metasearch engine that aggregates search results from multiple supported search services while providing users with greater control over their search environment and configuration. The platform can be used for private search environments, research systems, internal search services, development projects, and applications requiring configurable metasearch capabilities. This AMI provides Ubuntu 26.04 LTS with the required runtime environment and SearXNG components configured for simplified deployment on AWS. Customers maintain control over their EC2 infrastructure, SearXNG configuration, enabled search engines, network access, and application settings. SearXNG is open source software distributed under its applicable license. Usage instructions
Launch an EC2 instance using this AMI. Allow TCP port 22 from a trusted administrative IP address. Allow TCP port 80 for HTTP access. Allow TCP port 443 when HTTPS is configured. Connect to the instance using the ubuntu user. Verify that the SearXNG service is running. Open the SearXNG interface using the EC2 public IP address or configured domain. Configure the required search engines and application settings according to your requirements. For production deployments configure HTTPS and appropriate network security.
