You deploy this remote desktop software on your own AWS EC2 instance, and the software itself is free. Pricing is based only on the EC2 instance size you choose, billed hourly. You pick from twelve instance types across two families. The t2 and t3 options range from micro through medium and large sizes. The m3 family runs from medium up to xlarge and 2xlarge, and the m5 family covers large and xlarge. Larger instances offer more compute and memory. Choose the size that matches your expected workload, since hourly cost scales with the instance you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Am I charged for the software itself, or only for the EC2 instance?
The remote desktop software is free for personal and business use, with no license fee and no time limits. On AWS Marketplace, you pay only the hourly rate for the EC2 instance type you select. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop, though AWS storage fees may still apply.
What am I actually deploying on the EC2 instance I pay for?
You deploy a self-hosted remote desktop network on your own infrastructure. It handles relay and rendezvous connections for your devices, so you control the routing rather than using the default public relay servers. The instance size you pick determines how much compute and memory back that network.
How does my cost change if I pick a larger instance type?
Cost scales with the instance you choose, billed per hour. Moving from a t2 or t3 size to an m3 or m5 size, or from medium to xlarge, raises the hourly rate. There is no upfront commitment. You pay for each hour the selected instance runs.

Outstanding Remote Support with First-Class Support and Easy-to-Use Features

What do you like best about the product?
HopToDesk is an outstanding piece of software. After TeamViewer deactivated our perpetual license, we started looking for a new remote support solution. We tested everything we could find, but every alternative came with at least one significant drawback.
We eventually came across HopToDesk through a slightly older YouTube video ().
Even with its extensive range of features, the software is remarkably easy to use and delivers excellent performance. The most important features for us are fully automated video recording of all sessions, exporting session durations, and the ability to create branded modules for our customers.
We also need to connect to computers where other team members are already working, or where another user may be connected via RDP, and HopToDesk handles all of this without any issues.
The ability to draw directly on the screen and take screenshots adds extra functionality that is genuinely useful in day-to-day support.
Reliable, easy-to-reach support is just as important to us. At the beginning, we submitted several minor suggestions for improvement, and the support team implemented every one of them within 24 hours.
For us, HopToDesk is an excellent product with first-class support. On top of that, it is an open-source solution that is also partly available free of charge.
