With the increase in remote users and data moving from on-premises data centers to the Cloud, the Microsoft Entra Private Network Connector serves as an essential piece of the solution for Entra Private Access, which provides a robust VPN alternative to enable secure access to all private applications for remote users. The Microsoft Entra Private Network Connector is a solution template that enables users to seamlessly deploy a virtual machine with a pre-installed Microsoft Entra Private Network Connector through a simpler managed model. The solution template offers automation that eliminates the need for manually installing and registering a connector and improves the ease of authentication during the connector set up process. We provide a simplified experience for all users to quickly form a secure connection to all private applications on the Cloud and/or on-premises environments from any device and location. This product requires an internet connection to deploy properly. The following packages are downloaded from Entra Admin Endpoint on Windows Connector Machine and later installed to deploy a Private Network Connector and Register with Entra Portal: MicrosoftEntraPrivateNetworkConnectorInstaller Application.

Entra Connector Deployment
The CloudFormation Template Launches a EC2 instance that has the Microsoft Entra Private Access connector downloaded, installed and registered on a virtual machine.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances).
