You pay by the hour for this Windows Server 2025 image with AWS CLI preinstalled. Pricing follows a pay-as-you-go model, so you only pay for the hours you run. Each dimension maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type, and the hourly rate scales with the size and capability of the instance you pick. Options range from small burstable types to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and GPU-focused instances, plus bare-metal choices. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing goes directly to your AWS account. No upfront commitment applies.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance dimension?
You get a preconfigured Windows Server 2025 image with the AWS CLI preinstalled, running on the Amazon EC2 instance type you select. The image is ready for automation and scripting. Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type, and its CPU, memory, storage, and GPU capacity set the hourly rate.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped?
The software rate meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay underlying AWS fees, such as storage for the attached volume, while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
Does the hourly rate change if I switch to a different instance type?
Yes. Each dimension is billed independently at its own hourly rate. If you launch a different EC2 instance type, you pay that type's rate for the hours it runs. There is no upfront commitment, so you can move between instance types as your workload needs change.
