    Overview

WombatOAM provides complete visibility over systems running on the BEAM VM; from proprietary applications to open source ones such as Phoenix, Riak KV, RabbitMQ or MongooseIM. WombatOAM works as a stand-alone product or integrated into existing OAM infrastructures. It is easy to install and makes minimal demands on your system resources.

Pay-As-You-Go. The software's pricing model is dependent on the type of instance being utilized. Instances that are capable of monitoring a greater number of nodes command a higher hourly rate. Additionally, the provision of essential software support and feature requests - such as agent development and third-party tools - is prioritized for these instances.

Our corporate support framework prioritizes prompt and efficient response times for various machine sizes. We commit to addressing inquiries for (both types of machines) the largest machine within 1 hour and then doubling for every smaller machine. Our comprehensive support package encompasses feature development, enabling the integration of additional metrics and other node-related features. Furthermore, our expertise extends to the development of seamless integrations with a diverse range of third-party tools, further enhancing the overall functionality and effectiveness of your operations.

    Highlights

    • Monitor metrics of Erlang and Elixir nodes
    • View metrics, logs on remote nodes
    • send metrics, Logs and alarms to 3rd party tools (Datadog, Slack..)

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

Ensure that you have created an Internet Gateway (IGW) and attached it to your VPC. Additionally, verify that your subnet's route table includes a route that directs all internet-bound traffic (0.0.0.0/0) to the IGW for proper internet connectivity.

Usage Instructions: After you launch the instance you can access the Web interface through the public IP of the instance you started. e.g: <Public-IP>:8080 The Credentials of the instance are: Username: admin Password: You can find the password in the file /home/centos/Wombat_README.txt. (You have to ssh into the AWS instance with user centos)

You will be able to change the password as soon as you log in to WombatOAM.

To add Wombat to itself and monitor it, you can add it using wombat@0.0.0.0 and the cookie wombat. Read more about the usage of Wombat by visiting the documentation page.

To be able to add different nodes to Wombat you have to have the Erlang distribution enabled in the nodes, and Wombat has to be in the same network as the nodes.

    Useful tool

    Reviewed on Dec 14, 2023

It was very quick to set up and integrate with our Eixir and Rabbitmq nodes, we got a great amount of metrics out of it and the historical records of the process list feature were very useful to us.
It would be great to have more visualisation features e.g: process message passing, profiling.. etc.
