The powerful HR management capabilities in the Starter version include modules such as Employee Management, PTO/Leave Management, Reports & Analytics, Performance Management, HR Administration, Recruitment (ATS), Time Tracking, and a Mobile App allowing you to automate all the key activities of your HR department so you can concentrate on your people instead of the administrative tasks taking up all your day.
The OrangeHRM Starter AMI comes pre-configured with all the software needed for you to get up and running quickly. Use the pre-installed OrangeHRM AWS CLI to install, upgrade, back up and restore your system with a few simple commands. Further, enable HTTPS using simple commands with the integration of Certbot into OrangeHRM AWS CLI.

Dimensions summary
OrangeHRM Starter is free HR software. You pay no license fee for the product itself. Your only cost is the AWS EC2 instance you run it on, billed per hour. Each dimension is a different EC2 instance type, spanning general purpose, compute, memory, storage, and accelerated compute families. They differ in CPU, memory, and storage capacity. You pick the instance size that fits your workload and expected user count. Larger instances carry a higher hourly rate. You can start small and move to a larger instance as your team grows.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The OrangeHRM Starter software carries no license fee, since it is free and open source. Your hourly charge reflects only the AWS compute resource, which varies by the instance family and size you choose.
Hourly charges apply only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue hourly compute charges. You may still pay AWS for attached storage that persists while the instance is stopped. Charges resume automatically when you start the instance again.
You choose one instance type at a time, and each carries its own hourly rate. Moving to a larger instance means you stop the current one and launch the new type. The new hourly rate applies from launch. There is no per-employee software fee driving the change.

That it is easy to administer, add or update information, files and to received notifications.

That it lacks design, like a better accommodations of the options or sections. Also, it is difficult to create reports.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that OrangeHRM lets you add custom columns based on your needs. The front end is simple, and the functions are easy to understand. Once it’s set up properly, it runs fast and works smoothly.

The setup of the software was challenging, requiring a LAMP server before setting up OrangeHRM.

I use OrangeHRM to manage employee information and track attendance online, and it meets my small business needs.
