Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the software running on an Amazon EC2 instance. There is no upfront commitment. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, and your rate depends on which one you choose. The options span several instance families: general purpose (m, t), compute optimized (c), memory optimized (r), and storage optimized (i). Sizes range from nano and micro up to 2xlarge. As you pick instances with more compute, memory, or storage, the hourly rate rises. You select the instance size that fits your workload and pay only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one hour that the software runs on the Amazon EC2 instance type you selected. Billing meters actual running hours. The rate matches the instance family and size you choose, so hardware capacity determines your hourly software charge.
The software fee meters running time only, so a fully stopped instance stops accruing software charges. AWS may still bill underlying storage for the stopped instance. Software charges resume once you start the instance again.
Your hourly software rate depends on the EC2 instance type you pick. Separate AWS infrastructure charges apply for the instance, storage, and data transfer. Both charges appear together on your AWS bill. Larger instances raise the software rate and the infrastructure cost.

Usage instructions
System initialization
After launch, browse to http://<Public_DNS>/ and complete the first-boot configuration, or connect by SSH using the key pair selected at launch.
Operating system access
Connect using SSH as the Linux user admin with the selected EC2 key pair. Run privileged commands with sudo; this provides full OS-level administration.
Application access
Open http://<Public_DNS>/ in a web browser. The application may redirect to HTTPS after configuration.
