Overview
This dataset includes the social, environmental, economic, and underlying health conditions data that determines the population level risk stemming from exposure to a wildland fire. Data was obtained and aggregated from the US Census Bureau at data.census.gov and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at data.cdc.gov.
The Wildland Fire Risk Index that utilizes this dataset was piloted as a part of a U.S. Geological Survey and National Aeronautics and Space Administration jointly-funded effort. A video for the pilot results for the Western U.S. can be viewed on our YouTube channel .
