AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS GPU instance type you run. The 20 options are not feature tiers. They map to different NVIDIA GPU instance families, including G3, G4dn, G5, P2, P3, P4d, and P5 sizes. Each instance type carries its own hourly rate. Larger instances with more GPUs, memory, and compute cost more per hour than smaller ones. You choose the size that fits your workload, and your cost scales with the instance you select and the hours you run it.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing include for a GPU instance type?
One hour covers the software license running on the AWS GPU instance you launch. Billing counts each hour the instance runs. Each instance type carries its own hourly rate tied to its GPU count, memory, and compute size. You pay the AWS infrastructure charge separately.
Am I charged when a GPU instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges meter running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software rate. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes while stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How does running a larger instance type change my cost compared to a smaller one?
Each instance type bills at its own hourly rate. Switching to a type with more GPUs, memory, or compute raises your per-hour cost. Switching to a smaller type lowers it. You change cost by choosing a different type at launch, not through automatic tiers.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
