You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. The hourly rate is set by the ARM-based instance type you choose. Options span several families: general purpose (m6g, m7g, t4g), compute-optimized (c6g, c7g), memory-optimized (r6g, r7g, r8g), storage-optimized (i4g), graphics (g5g), and high-performance computing (hpc7g). Within each family, sizes range from medium up through large multi-core and bare-metal configurations. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. This software charge covers Elm Computing's support and is billed on top of your separate AWS infrastructure cost.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers Elm Computing's support for this repackaged open source product. AWS bills you separately for the underlying ARM instance you run. Both charges appear together, but the software fee is added on top of your AWS infrastructure cost.
The software fee meters running instance-hours only. When you stop or fully power off the instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but that is billed by AWS, not by the software licence.
Yes. Each ARM instance type has its own hourly rate. If you move from a smaller size to a larger multi-core or bare-metal configuration, the software rate for that type applies. You choose one type at launch, and its rate meters for each hour it runs.

Usage instructions
To connect to the Linux GUI Desktop on your EC2 instance using an RDP client, please use the public IP address of the instance as the PC name. The default username is elm, and the password is the EC2 instance ID, which follows the format i-0c7xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Make sure to replace i-0c7xxxxxxxxxxxxxx with your actual instance ID, which you can find in the AWS Management Console under the Instances section. Proceed to connect; you may receive a security warning about the certificate, but you can choose to continue.
