Secure your cloud instances and servers with Userify, the revolutionary decentralized administrative user administration solution. Unlike traditional authentication servers that can be vulnerable to attacks or failures, Userify deploys SSH cryptographic keys and configures sudo roles through a lightweight agent that's easily deployed through AMI, userdata scripts, or server orchestration platforms like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or by simply using a curl one-liner.
Userify Express is the perfect choice for managing your SSH keys, offering all the core features of Userify including unlimited users, companies, projects, and keys. Upgrade the number of instances you can manage with Userify simply by upgrading this instance type.
Experience the power of Userify - the winner of Slant's Reader Choice Survey as the best SSH key manager - and take your security to the next level!
Highlights
- With Userify's decentralized system, you can continue to log in to your EC2 instances even if your Userify instance goes offline, providing maximum reliability and quick login times.
- Userify not only manages SSH keys for your EC2 instances, but also sudo roles (root/user/none). Our color-coded dashboard allows you to easily grant separate root and user permissions, and each user has their own MFA-protected key management dashboard for added security. With Userify, you can easily manage and organize your users and their permissions on EC2 instances through our intuitive dashboard, ensuring that each user has the access they need to get their work done.
- Use Userify to manage your EC2 instances as part of a larger group, like cattle instead of pets. Our system is specifically designed to work seamlessly with auto-scaling groups, making it easy to add or remove instances as needed. Say goodbye to the security risks and compliance issues of shared SSH keys like ec2-user or ubuntu - Userify allows you to instantly meet security protocols and keep your instances secure.

Usage instructions
To set up and subscribe to Userify:
-
Select the instance size that best fits your needs.
-
Open the firewall/security groups on the HTTP/HTTPS ports to allow Userify to function properly. Keep in mind that Userify has been hardened for multi-cloud usage, so you can open it up to the public internet if needed.
-
Once Userify is up and running, point your DNS entry (e.g. userify.example.com) to the EIP (Elastic IP) of the instance.
-
Connect to the hostname with your web browser and accept the browser exception (due to the self-signed certificate). Enter the instance's instance ID.
-
Enable TLS by setting the hostname and your email, and accepting the Let's Encrypt terms of service. Alternatively, you can provide your own SSL certificates and key.
-
(Optional) Configure email sending by selecting your preferred service (e.g. AWS SES, Gmail, Office 365, or regular SMTP mail servers) and saving your settings.
-
Create your first Userify user by registering your account and creating your first company. Click the green "+" to create a project and server group. Invite other users to your company by clicking the green "+" under the user tab for your company.
-
Deploy Userify to your servers by clicking the server group heading and selecting your preferred deployment template in the dropdown menu.
