Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support provided by Fifty Clouds. The Amazon ECS-Optimized Amazon Linux 2 AMI is a customized, high-performance image designed specifically to run containerized applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments. Optimized for use with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), this AMI is built on the robust and secure foundation of Amazon Linux 2 and includes Docker pre-installed, alongside essential ECS agent software and related dependencies.
Key Features: Pre-installed Docker and ECS Agent: This AMI is tailored for seamless integration with ECS by including Docker and the ECS agent out of the box, reducing the time and effort needed to deploy and manage containerized applications.
Amazon Linux 2 Base: Built on Amazon Linux 2, the AMI benefits from improved system stability, long-term support (LTS), and kernel optimizations designed for performance and scalability in AWS cloud environments.
Automatic ECS Agent Updates: The ECS agent is automatically updated, ensuring that the AMI runs the latest stable version, keeping your containerized workloads secure and compatible with evolving ECS features.
Enhanced Security: This AMI benefits from Amazon Linux 2's regular security updates and compliance with major industry standards, enabling secure cloud environments.
Optimized for ECS Workloads: The AMI includes enhancements specifically for running ECS container workloads, offering optimal performance and resource management for microservices architectures, batch processing, and large-scale container orchestration.
Broad Compatibility: The AMI supports x86_64 architecture, making it suitable for a wide range of AWS EC2 instance types, from general-purpose instances (such as t3, m5) to compute-optimized instances (c5).
Highlights
- Seamless ECS Integration: Pre-installed Docker and ECS Agent, enabling fast, easy deployment and management of containerized applications on Amazon ECS.
- Optimized Performance and Security: Built on Amazon Linux 2, with regular security updates and kernel optimizations designed for cloud-native workloads.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
To connect to an ec2-user instance on AWS using SSH with the username 'ec2-user', you can follow these three steps:
Open your Terminal or SSH Client:
On your local system, open the terminal or SSH client of your choice. You can use the terminal on your operating system if you're on Linux or macOS, or an SSH client like PuTTY if you're on Windows.
In the terminal, use the SSH command followed by the public IP address of your instance and the username 'ec2-user'. For example:
ssh -i /path/to/your/private-key.pem ec2-user@your-public-ip-address
Replace "your-public-ip-address" with the public IP address of your instance. If you're using a private key file, make sure to include the -i option followed by the path to the private key file. Enter your Password or Private Key:
Note: Depending on your instance's configuration, you may be prompted to enter a password or select your private key for authentication.
For more information: Connect to your instance, see the AWS EC2 documentation: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/AccessingInstancesLinux.html
