Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. You pay by the hour for SIOS DataKeeper, billed per running EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you choose to run. Options span several families, including compute-optimized (c4, c5, c5a, c5n), memory-optimized (r3, r4, r5, r5n, x1, x1e), general-purpose (m4, m5), storage-optimized (i3en), and high-memory bare-metal (u-series) instances. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates. There is no upfront commitment. You add the software to a Windows Server Failover Clustering environment and pay only while instances run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and how is running time counted?
Each dimension maps to a single EC2 instance type. You pay the hourly rate for each running instance that has the software installed. Billing meters the time the instance runs. One instance equals one billed unit at its matching rate, counted per hour of operation.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped, such as a standby DR node?
Charges accrue per running instance-hour. A fully stopped instance does not run the software, so no software hourly charge applies during that time. Underlying AWS storage costs may still apply separately. When you start the instance again, hourly software billing resumes at its instance-type rate.
What happens to my cost if I move the software to a different instance size?
Your rate follows the instance type you run. Each instance family and size carries its own hourly rate. Moving to a different instance changes your hourly charge to that instance's rate. There is no upfront commitment, so switching sizes simply changes what you pay per running hour.
