    Dimensions summary

The software itself is free, so you pay only for the AWS EC2 compute you run it on. You choose an hourly instance based on how much processing power and memory you need. The m5 family runs from m5.large up to m5.24xlarge, adding CPU and memory at each step. The t3 and t3a families offer smaller options: t3.medium, t3a.medium, t3.large, t3a.large, plus xlarge and 2xlarge sizes. Pricing scales with the instance size you pick. Larger instances cost more per hour and suit heavier traffic or larger datasets.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

The m5 family provides steady CPU and memory, suited to consistent traffic. The t3 and t3a families are burstable, offering baseline performance with short spikes, which fits lighter or uneven workloads. Each hour of the running instance is billed. Larger sizes cost more per hour.
The CKAN software is free, so no software charge applies. You pay AWS for the instance while it runs. A stopped instance stops accruing hourly compute charges, but attached storage may still incur AWS storage fees. Billing meters the running instance-hours you choose.
No. This is a pre-configured, ready-to-run image with CKAN and extensions like harvest and pages installed. It carries no software fee. Ongoing managed hosting, security patch assessment, backups, and version currency are handled through a separate engagement with the vendor, not through this listing.
