    AWS Cloud Migration

     Info
End-to-end migration of l IT infrastructure — servers, student information systems, file/print, and backup — from on-premises VMware, Nutanix or Hyper V environments to a secure, resilient AWS architecture purpose-built for multi-campus organisations.

    Overview

This service migrates on-premises virtualised infrastructure (VMware ESXi , Hyper V Nutanix AHV)or Physical servers to AWS, replacing ageing hardware and rising hypervisor licensing costs with a scalable, centrally managed cloud environment. The engagement begins with a detailed assessment of the existing estate (compute, storage, and workload inventory) to size the target AWS environment accurately before any migration work begins. The resulting architecture is built on Amazon EC2 for application and file servers, Amazon RDS for database workloads plus general SQL Server estates, Amazon S3 for object storage, and Amazon FSx for file shares, all within a VPC architecture designed for multi-campus connectivity via Site-to-Site VPN or AWS Direct Connect. AWS Network Firewall provides centralised perimeter security across campuses, and AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery is used to replicate workloads to a secondary AWS region, supporting low-RPO disaster recovery without maintaining a second physical data centre. Backups are managed through AWS Backup with immutable, WORM-protected copies in Amazon S3 Object Lock, giving Organizations ransomware-resistant data protection that meets typical compliance and insurance requirements. Delivery follows a phased, fixed-scope methodology: discovery and RVTools-based assessment, target architecture design, AWS Pricing Calculator-validated cost modelling, staged workload migration by campus or system, and post-migration optimisation and handover. This approach has been used to migrate fleets of 1000+ production VMs across multiple campuses for Australian clients, with transparent, line-item AWS cost estimates provided before migration begins.

    Highlights

    • Purpose-built for multi-campus School environments, with reference architectures supporting common education workloads including TASS, Synergetic, learning management systems, and SQL Server-based student information systems
    • Built-in resilience via AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery for low-RPO failover to a secondary AWS region, and AWS Backup with S3 Object Lock for immutable, ransomware-resistant backup copies.
    • Fixed-scope, phased delivery with AWS Pricing Calculator-validated cost estimates provided up front, based on a proven methodology already used across multiple Australian migrations.
