Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

This listing bills through a single dimension: SurrealDB Cloud Usage Units. You commit under an annual contract, and your usage draws down against those units. There are no separate size tiers or plan levels on Marketplace. Instead, your cost scales with what you consume, including compute time, storage, data transfer, and backup storage for your managed database instances. Larger or more active deployments consume more units. This structure lets you fund a fully managed database and apply your consumption against the units you purchase over the term.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Usage Units cover the resources your managed instances consume. This includes compute time measured per hour, storage capacity, internet and inter-node data transfer, and retained backup storage. You draw down units against these metered resources rather than paying a fixed per-user or per-node fee.
Compute is metered by the hour, so charges accrue while an instance runs. Storage and retained backups continue to consume units even during low activity, since that data stays provisioned. A stopped instance still holds storage that draws down units until removed.
Compute time tends to dominate for active, continuously running workloads. Storage and backup retention dominate for large datasets with lower query activity. Data transfer adds to the total based on internet egress and inter-node traffic. All these metrics draw from the same pool of units simultaneously.
