EBES Secure CentOS 10 LAMP Stack - Deploy a production-ready, security-hardened LAMP stack on AWS without spending hours on manual installation and configuration. The EBES Secure CentOS LAMP Image comes pre-configured with Apache, MariaDB, and PHP - tested and optimized to work together out of the box so you can focus on building your application rather than managing infrastructure.

Who This Is For - This AMI is designed for developers, DevOps engineers, and small teams who need a reliable, secure web application environment on AWS without the overhead of building and hardening a LAMP stack from scratch. Common use cases include: - Deploying PHP web applications such as WordPress, Drupal, or custom PHP apps with a secure, pre-configured foundation - Standing up development and staging environments quickly with a consistent, repeatable configuration - Running small to mid-size e-commerce sites or internal business applications that require Apache, MariaDB, and PHP - Migrating on-premises LAMP workloads to AWS with a familiar stack that is already optimized for the cloud ## Included Software Stack - Operating System: CentOS 8.x - Web Server: Apache HTTP Server - Database: MariaDB - Application Runtime: PHP All components are pre-installed, configured, and tested to work together. The stack is ready to serve web content immediately after launch. ## Security Hardening The EBES Secure AMI goes beyond a vanilla CentOS installation. The image is built with security as a priority, including firewall configuration, disabled unnecessary services, and SSH key-based access. The "Secure" designation reflects deliberate hardening steps applied before publishing so that your environment starts from a stronger security baseline than a default installation. ## AWS Integration This AMI is designed to work within your broader AWS environment: - Amazon CloudWatch - Monitor Apache and system metrics for performance visibility - Amazon S3 - Store application assets, backups, and static content - Elastic Load Balancing - Place instances behind a load balancer for high availability - AWS Systems Manager - Manage patching and configuration at scale ## Getting Started 1. Launch the AMI from AWS Marketplace on your preferred EC2 instance type 2. Connect to your instance via SSH using your key pair 3. Verify the LAMP stack is running - Apache serves the default page, MariaDB is active, and PHP is configured 4. Deploy your application code to the web root directory 5. Configure your MariaDB databases and PHP application settings as needed ## Why Choose EBES Secure Over a Free Image A free community CentOS image requires you to install, configure, harden, and test each LAMP component yourself. With EBES Secure, you save setup time and start with a security-hardened baseline. Paid product support from EBES means you have a dedicated team to contact when issues arise, rather than relying solely on community forums. To get started, launch this AMI from AWS Marketplace or contact EBES support for a guided deployment walkthrough.

    Security Hardening

This image is configured with security as a priority. The installation approach removes unnecessary packages and services that could introduce vulnerabilities. By starting with a reduced footprint, you gain a smaller attack surface and fewer components requiring ongoing patching. EBES applies hardening configurations designed to provide a secure baseline for production deployments.

    Lightweight Design

The minimal install philosophy means this image ships only with the packages required to run a functional Linux server. This results in faster boot times, lower memory consumption at idle, and reduced storage requirements compared to full CentOS installations. The lean footprint makes it ideal for environments where resource efficiency matters.

    Use Cases

    • Microservices Host: Use as a base image for containerized or non-containerized microservices where minimal overhead is critical.
    • Hardened Jump Box: Deploy as a secure bastion host in regulated environments that require a reduced attack surface.
    • Batch Processing: Run lightweight compute jobs

    Highlights

    • Security-hardened LAMP stack ready to deploy - The EBES Secure CentOS 10 AMI ships with Apache, MariaDB, and PHP pre-installed and configured with security hardening including firewall configuration, disabled unnecessary services, and SSH key-based access.
