Overview
Web Safety is full featured web filtering proxy appliance based on Squid. It may be used to block illegal or potentially malicious file downloads, remove annoying advertisements, prevent access to various categories of the web sites and block resources with explicit content.

- Deep HTTPS decryption and SSL inspection ensures that encrypted web traffic is filtered against your security policies, preventing malicious downloads, explicit content, and policy violations that bypass traditional HTTP-only filters.
- Integrates with Active Directory (LDAP, RADIUS) authentication to apply granular per-user and per-group filtering policies using your existing directory infrastructure. Define differentiated access levels across departments, roles, or device groups from a centralized web-based admin interface without additional client software.
- Bring Your Own License (BYOL) lets you leverage your existing license investment while deploying on AWS with full flexibility. Deploy on AWS as a pre-configured AMI running Ubuntu 26.04 and Squid 7.6, with additional support for Azure, VMware, and Hyper-V for hybrid environments. Usage instructions
- Deploy a new Web Safety AMI, open ports 80 and 443 (for UI) and 3128 (for proxy) when deploying.
- Run the instance and wait a while until it fully initializes. Usually a minute or so.
- Login to Admin UI at the http://ip.address.of.the.instance:80 to configure and manage all filtering settings.
- Setup your browser to use proxy at ip.address.of.the.instance, port 3128.
- Browse the web, automatically filtering the undesired web site categories, adult sites and so on.
