Disaster Recovery for Growing Businesses

Cloudtech will design and implement a pilot light disaster recovery solution for compute, storage, and one database. Specifically, the solution will provide live data backup in a separate region for storage and database as well as ready (but idle) infrastructure that can be spun up in the event of a disaster. Cloudtech will design and implement proper networking between regions, data replication, infrastructure replication, VPCs, load balancing, and autoscaling to meet agreed upon RPO/RTO. Data will follow a backup and restore methodology with live replication using AWS Backup, S3, and one of the following AWS databases: RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB.

Assumptions and limitations: Elastic Load Balancer: number of Application Load Balancers (1). Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible: Aurora MySQL Cluster Configuration Options (Aurora Standard), Storage amount (1 TB), Additional backup storage (1 TB). Amazon VPC: DT Inbound: All other regions (1 TB per month), DT Outbound: US East (N. Virginia) (1 TB per month), DT Intra-Region: (0 TB per month).

Pricing assumes the following criteria. Implementations falling outside of these assumptions can incur additional professional services and AWS costs. 1/Customer has an existing AWS account with a basic OU structure and provisioned resilient storage. 2/Customer employs at least one full-time technical resource that can assume the role of AWS administrator, facilitate any needed data transfer functions, and provide answers to current infrastructure and architecture questions. 3/Volume of data to be backed up is 300 GB or less.
