Highlights
All openEuler OS AMI's include cloud-init support. The default cloud user is set up to be 'openeuler'. After the machine is running, you will be able to log in as this user and run privileged commands with sudo.
All openEuler OS images are built with SELinux set to enforcing mode.

See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
The openEuler-24.03-LTS-SP1 (x86_64) operating system is offered at no software charge. Every pricing line maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, billed by the hour. You pick the instance that fits your workload, from small general-purpose sizes to large memory-, compute-, storage-, and accelerator-optimized machines, including bare-metal options. The software itself stays free across all of them. Your hourly cost reflects only the underlying AWS compute you select, so pricing scales with instance size and family rather than with any software tier. This release supports server, cloud, edge, and embedded deployments.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly pricing line represent, and what am I actually paying for?
Each line maps to one AWS EC2 instance type. The openEuler software itself carries no charge. Your hourly cost reflects only the underlying AWS compute you run. You are billed for each running instance-hour of the size and family you pick.
Am I charged for instances that are stopped or powered off?
The software carries no charge, so no software fee accrues whether an instance runs or stops. Hourly compute charges apply only while an instance runs. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate AWS charges, not software charges.
Does my cost change if I move to a larger instance family or size?
The software stays free across every instance type listed. Your hourly cost changes only with the AWS compute you select. Moving to a larger memory-, compute-, storage-, or accelerator-optimized instance raises the hourly compute charge. Switching is manual — you launch or resize to the instance you want.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
