You pay by the hour for support on CentOS Stream 10, billed per running instance. Each dimension maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type, so your rate follows the instance you choose. Smaller instance types like t2.micro or c8a.medium carry lower hourly rates. Larger sizes, such as 48xlarge and metal instances, carry higher rates that scale with instance capacity. Rates also vary across instance families built for general purpose, compute, memory, storage, and accelerated workloads. You only pay for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly charge cover for a given instance type?
One hourly charge covers vendor support for CentOS Stream 10 running on a single EC2 instance of the type you select. The rate is tied to that instance type. Each running instance meters separately, so ten instances of the same type accrue ten times the hourly rate.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software support charge meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly support fee. Underlying AWS charges, such as storage for a stopped instance, are billed separately by AWS and are not part of this listing.
Do I commit upfront, or pay only for what I use?
You pay as you go with no upfront commitment. Billing meters actual instance-hours for each running instance. If you scale up more instances or larger types, cost rises with the hours those instances run. Scaling down or stopping instances reduces the accrued charge.
