What counts as one device for the entitlement in each plan?
A device is any connected board or hardware unit linked to Arduino Cloud. The Prototype Plan entitles you to 20 devices, and the Enterprise Plan entitles you to 500 devices. You can connect compatible Arduino, ESP-based boards, or third-party devices that run supported programming languages. Each connected unit counts toward your entitlement.
What happens if my device count grows beyond my plan's entitlement?
Each plan entitles a fixed device count: 20 for Prototype and 500 for Enterprise. If your deployment outgrows the Prototype Plan's 20 devices, you move to the Enterprise Plan, which covers 500. The plans are separate entitlements, so you select the one matching your fleet size rather than adding overage.
Is billing usage-based or a fixed commitment?
Both plans use a contract model billed as units. You commit to a plan tied to a device entitlement rather than paying per activity or per hour. Charges do not vary with how much you use each device. You pay for the entitlement level you select for your deployment.
