You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is set per AWS ARM-based EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you choose. Options span general-purpose (m-series, a1, t4g), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-series, x-series), storage and I/O focused (i-series, is4gen, im4gn), graphics (g5g), and high-performance computing (hpc7g) families. Within each family, larger sizes carry higher hourly rates. Metal instances run on dedicated hardware. This runs Docker on a hardened Debian 12 image configured to recognized security standards.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You are billed per hour that a chosen instance runs. One unit is one running EC2 instance of the selected type, measured by wall-clock hours. Each instance you launch meters separately. The hourly rate matches the instance family and size you pick.
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. A stopped instance stops the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS resources, like attached storage, may still incur standard AWS fees while stopped. The hourly meter tracks running time only.
Metal instances run on dedicated physical hardware rather than shared virtualized hosts. You still pay per hour, but the rate reflects the full server. Standard sizes share underlying hardware and bill by the smaller virtual allocation you select within a family.
