Teams standardizing on Rocky Linux from CIQ Pro 9 (arm64) get a production-ready Enterprise Linux that is 100% Enterprise Linux binary compatible, so existing tooling works without changes.
Highlights
100% Enterprise Linux binary compatible; existing tooling works unchanged,
Enterprise Support available via Private Offer,
IP indemnification included
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with rates set per Arm-based (arm64) EC2 instance type. The many dimensions all map to specific instance families and sizes, including general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, GPU, and high-performance computing options. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates, so cost scales with the compute, memory, and storage capacity you select. There are no tiers or feature levels to choose between. The same software subscription applies across every instance type, and charges accrue only while instances run.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate for each instance type cover, and does the software charge apply while an instance is stopped?
The hourly rate covers the Rocky Linux from CIQ Pro subscription running on that Arm-based instance. Charges accrue only while the instance runs. Fully stopped instances do not accrue software charges, though underlying AWS storage fees may still apply separately.
What enterprise capabilities are bundled into the Pro subscription across all instance types?
One subscription includes Long-Term Support, FIPS 140-3 validated cryptography, direct bug fixes, committed CVE response timelines, and indemnification. The same features apply regardless of which instance type you run. There are no separate tiers to assemble these capabilities.
If I move a workload to a larger instance size, how does my software cost change?
Software charges are set per instance type and size, so the hourly rate changes when you switch instances. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates, matching added compute, memory, or storage. The change happens when you launch the new instance type; there is no automatic upgrade.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
