You pay by the hour for this hardened Oracle Linux 7 image, billed only while an instance runs. Each pricing line maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type. The software hourly rate is charged on top of standard AWS infrastructure fees. Your cost scales with the instance you choose: smaller types like t2 and t3 sizes carry lower hourly rates, while larger compute, memory, storage, and GPU types cost more. Pick the instance that fits your workload, and your rate follows that choice. You launch the image on demand with no term commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly pricing line map to in concrete terms?
Each line maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, such as t3.medium or m5.large. You pay the hourly software rate tied to the instance type you launch. The rate reflects that instance's compute, memory, storage, or GPU profile. You choose one instance type per running image.
Am I charged the software fee when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Stopped instances may still incur standard AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate AWS infrastructure costs, not the software license charge.
How does the software charge combine with my AWS infrastructure cost on the bill?
Two charges apply at the same time. The hourly software rate for the Oracle Linux 7 hardened image is added on top of the standard AWS fee for the EC2 instance you run. Both scale with running hours and appear together. Larger instance types raise both charges.

This Oracle Linux 7 image has charges associated with it for cloud integration and security hardening provided by ProComputers. It delivers a mature, well-proven operating system for keeping established workloads running on Amazon EC2. The image comes with cloud-init for automatic first-boot setup, the Elastic Network Adapter driver for fast networking, and SELinux in enforcing mode. Since Oracle Linux 7 is built from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 source code, software and scripts designed for RHEL 7 work without modification. Updates are installed with yum from the official Oracle Linux repositories, so maintenance follows familiar routines. OracleLinux 7 is a practical choice for legacy business applications, databases, internal web services, and systems that are not yet ready to move to a newer release. ProComputers builds, validates, and refreshes this AMI regularly, giving your team a clean, consistent base for these environments.
