What I value most about Flexera is its ability to turn complex technology and licensing data into clear, actionable insights. Over the past seven years, I have seen organizations strengthen their ITAM maturity, reduce risk, and make smarter business decisions with a platform that continuously evolves alongside the market.

What do you dislike about the product?

What I find most challenging about Flexera is that some reporting and configuration processes can feel overly complex and require significant expertise to manage effectively. Simplifying the user experience, improving reporting flexibility, and providing clearer guidance for data troubleshooting would help customers achieve value faster.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Flexera One solves the challenge of connecting purchase orders, entitlements, and license consumption in one place, providing greater visibility and control across the software lifecycle. Its SaaS management capabilities are especially valuable, helping organizations identify usage, reduce waste, optimize subscriptions, and make better-informed decisions.

The vast amount ARL, intelligence, SaaS integrations

What do you dislike about the product?

The User Interface could do with an update so it is more in line to current and more SNOW oriented.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Management of Entitlements to provide ELPs, discovery of assets, ILMT alternative, Java worksheets etc

What do you like best about the product?

I appreciate Flexera One for its robust features that allow us to drill down on costs effectively, making cloud costs transparent which enables us to extend accountability to all our cloud teams. The exports are incredibly helpful, providing cloud cost and usage details across 10 dimensions. I particularly like how you can use the dashboard to pinpoint issues quickly, like when we identified inflated costs with Microsoft today with a color-coded view in the dashboard. The transition from CloudHealth to Flexera One was seamless, and once certain features were enabled, everything worked like a charm.

What do you dislike about the product?

Well, the Azure shared cost, unfortunately, due to the volume at our company, does not provide daily granularity, and has only a limited number of dimensions capable of being enabled. Consequently we have no view of RI/SP savings for Azure Shared Costs because Purchase Option is not one of the dimensions capable of being enabled. So, ideally, we'd want to have more dimensions enabled in shared cost and daily granularity.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Flexera One to track all our cloud usage and costs across platforms like Azure and AWS. We create personalized dashboards, budget alerts, and monitor coverage, utilization, and waste, gaining visibility and accountability for our teams.

What do you like best about the product?

Flexera One is a strong platform for improving cloud cost visibility and FinOps governance. The dashboards, table views, Billing Centers, and commitment visibility features make it easier to track spend, allocate costs, and identify optimization opportunities. It also provides useful recommendations and detailed exports that support better reporting and decision-making.

What do you dislike about the product?

One area for improvement is Kubernetes cost visibility, which currently requires integration with Ocean. Having those capabilities more directly integrated into Flexera One would make the experience more seamless.

What do you like best about the product?

Flexera's cloud cost optimization tool is heavily used for our monthly and quarterly billing reports. We use AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud and tracking internal projects vs customer based projects is very important to our team. Flexera's ever expanding tabular view and cost explorer tools are very quick and easy to breakdown all the details we need to see.

What do you dislike about the product?

There's is some transitioning over from the previous tool we used called Cloudcheckr. There hasn't been any surprises but like anything in life there are times when I'd prefer for certain cloud inventory features to be integrated sooner.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Pretty straight forward here. First is cloud cost tracking at it's core. Next is cloud cost optimization and making sure we don't have unused resources running taking up valuable cloud spend. Third is developing an easy way to export cloud cost daughter and have it organized in the exact way we wanted to deliver it to PM's, managers, execs, etc.

What do you like best about the product?

Easy to operate and manage software licenses and compliance reporting, with strong reporting capabilities, especially for Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft. It provides various integration options to improve overall coverage. The tool is capable of handling large sets of inventory data and has an enhanced application library. The Flexera support desk is always responsive and helps resolve queries quickly. They also continue introducing new AI capabilities to onboard software purchases and more.

What do you dislike about the product?

I haven’t encountered any such instance so far, but I would definitely like to see improvements in application bundling. That would help us manage publisher compliance more effectively.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

The application recognition and inventory discovery capabilities across the organization help identify unauthorized or unapproved applications effectively. Additionally, application usage insights enable cost optimization by highlighting underutilized or unused licenses, helping reduce unnecessary software spend. The platform also provides a centralized view of all purchased applications and licenses through dedicated UI tabs, making navigation intuitive and allowing users to quickly access the information they need.

What do you like best about the product?

I am using Flexera for cost optimization of my AWS workloads. Once all is configured and integrated, it provides useful insights that led directly to significant optimization of our workloads. Some of them are by default, such as the FinOps KPIs while some other need to be manually setup depending on your needs.
Once all is configured, it becomes very easy to navigate between each dashboards and get directly your insights at a glance.
Had once to contact their support, which reacted in a very effective way.

What do you dislike about the product?

One of the main drawbacks of the platform is the amount of effort required during the initial setup and dashboard creation. While Flexera offers powerful reporting capabilities, building meaningful dashboards is a time-consuming and largely manual process.

Each chart must be created individually, even when multiple charts share the same structure, filters, or data sources. There is no option to duplicate or copy/paste an existing chart within a dashboard and simply adjust a few parameters, such as a filter, metric, or grouping. As a result, creating dashboards with many similar visualizations becomes repetitive and inefficient, significantly increasing implementation time.

In addition, making changes later can also be cumbersome, as common modifications often need to be applied manually to each graph. A more flexible dashboard designer with reusable components, chart cloning, and shared filter templates would greatly improve productivity and the overall user experience.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Flexera provides excellent visibility into the costs of our cloud workloads, with clear dashboards and detailed cost breakdowns across services and resources. Its drill-down capabilities make it easy to investigate unexpected cost increases and identify their root causes. The platform also provides valuable optimization recommendations, helping us identify cost-saving opportunities such as underutilized or oversized resources, making it a strong tool for FinOps and cloud cost governance.

What do you like best about the product?

The best feature of Flexera One is the centralized visibility of software and cloud assets in a single platform. It facilitates license management, identifies cost optimization opportunities, and monitors compliance, allowing for more assertive decisions based on reliable data. Additionally, its automation capabilities reduce operational effort and increase the efficiency of Software Asset Management (SAM) processes.

What do you dislike about the product?

Although Flexera One is a powerful platform, some features have a steep learning curve, especially for new users. Additionally, navigation and the generation of certain reports could be more intuitive, reducing the time needed to find specific information. In some scenarios, the configuration and maintenance of integrations may also require additional effort to ensure data quality and process efficiency.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Flexera One helps solve challenges related to software asset management, license compliance, and cost optimization in on-premises and cloud environments. The platform provides consolidated visibility of software inventory, license usage, and spending, allowing for the identification of savings opportunities, reduction of non-compliance risks, and support for strategic decisions with reliable data. As a result, we gain more operational efficiency, better asset governance, and greater control over technology investments.

What do you like best about the product?

Flexera One provides a centralized platform for managing software assets, licenses, and cloud resources. It simplifies software usage tracking, helps identify underutilized licenses, and enables efficient reporting without the need for extensive manual data collection. Its integration capabilities with platforms such as ServiceNow, SCCM, and Intune are particularly valuable, as they enhance visibility across the IT environment and support more informed decision-making. Flexera One is a robust and highly capable IT Asset Management solution. However, due to the breadth of its features and technical capabilities, new users may experience a learning curve when first using the platform. Once users become familiar with its functionality, the system becomes easier to navigate and provides substantial operational value.

Flexera One helps consolidate software license and IT asset management into a single platform, reducing manual effort and improving overall visibility. It enables teams to identify unused or underutilized licenses, support compliance efforts, and make more strategic decisions regarding software investments. As a result, it helps improve operational efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs, and strengthen IT governance.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like most about Flexera is how it gives a clear and complete view of software licenses, hardware assets, and cloud usage in one place. It makes managing IT assets much easier by helping identify unused licenses, optimize costs, and ensure compliance. I appreciate how the platform provides actionable insights that support better decision-making rather than just collecting data. Overall, Flexera helps organizations stay organized, reduce waste, and gain better control over their technology investments, which makes it a valuable tool for effective IT asset management.

What I dislike about Flexera is that it can be quite complex and expensive, especially for organizations that are new to Software Asset Management. While the platform offers a wide range of powerful features, configuring and maintaining it properly often requires significant time, effort, and expertise. The learning curve can be steep for new users, and understanding all of its capabilities may take some time. In some cases, smaller organizations or teams with simpler requirements might find that the platform provides more functionality than they actually need. Although Flexera delivers strong value when fully implemented, the initial setup, ongoing management, and licensing costs can be challenging for organizations with limited resources or straightforward use cases.

What I like about Flexera One is that it provides a clear and comprehensive view of where an organization's technology spending is going.
