Its definition of language is very textbook, and doesn't take into account regional usage and colloquialisms.

Being able to quickly fix my grammar, especially in instances where I type too fast for my fingers to keep up.

What do you like best about the product?

This is one of the best tools for checking English spelling and grammar. I use the Grammarly extension and app, and whenever I type in chat, write an email, or enter text in any input field, Grammarly highlights errors and suggests a better version of what I wrote. When I make mistakes or phrase something in incorrect English, it helps me fix it and express my thoughts more clearly. I find it especially useful for professional communication with my team and clients.

What do you dislike about the product?

This is not really free. After using the sentence checker for a while, it eventually requires a premium plan to continue. Also, sometimes its suggestions don’t match the exact meaning I want to convey, so I have to review them carefully before accepting them each time. At times, it also seems unable to understand words that include a person’s name.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

My English isn’t very strong, and I often make spelling and grammar mistakes when writing messages, emails, and other professional communication in English. Sometimes I have to use Google Translator, which is time-wasting and a long process. Now, after installing the Grammarly extension on my system, I can identify mistakes as I type and get suggestions to correct my sentences and improve my writing with the help of Grammarly.

I rely on Grammarly’s grammar checks, sentence formatting, and spell checks as the core foundation of clear, professional communication. They help eliminate careless typos and syntax errors quickly, saving hours of manual editing and making sure every email, document, or message maintains a polished standard before it reaches the reader.

What do you dislike about the product?

The AI content and form generation tools often produce generic or overly formulaic text that requires heavy rewriting to sound natural. Having to switch back and forth to the standalone application also disrupts my flow when I’m working across multiple browser tabs and native desktop apps.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me quickly proofread and polish routine email responses and short memos, and it can provide a solid starting point for drafts, quick rewrites, and bullet-point expansions. It saves some initial setup time and makes our short-form writing much more consistent, even though I still end up doing about 40% to 50% editing to remove the robotic tone and make it sound authentic.

The punctuation and grammar suggestions are consistently helpful for catching small typos, and the tone suggestions are especially useful for polishing emails. Grammarly’s AI also helped me draft a quick, professional follow-up email when I was stuck on how to phrase a polite reminder to a client. I’ve been using it to draft quick email replies and to rephrase passive sentences, and most of the time it gets the text about 80% of the way there.

What do you dislike about the product?

The plagiarism check often flags standard industry terms, familiar idioms, or boilerplate wording as plagiarism, which adds extra time to my workflow because I have to manually review and dismiss these false positives.

It saved me time and helped me strike the right tone in a follow-up email. Overall it reduces the effort needed to produce usable text, since it usually gets me most of the way there and I only need a few minor edits to finish.

It’s annoying that the suggestions sometimes sound unnatural or too generic, so I still have to edit them myself. Sentence rephrasing can also change what I actually mean, and the tone options don’t always match how I want to sound. I wish the suggestions felt more natural and understood the context better.
