Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Box - Intelligent Content Management is used for managing business documents and keeping important files organized in one place. For a development team, Box - Intelligent Content Management can help with sharing project documents, technical specifications, design files, and other resources while making them easier to access.

A good example of how my team uses Box - Intelligent Content Management for document management and sharing would be in projects where a developer, designer, and project manager need to share requirements, design documents, and project updates. Box - Intelligent Content Management keeps these files organized in one place with controllable access and easier collaboration. It helps everyone find the latest information without going back and forth through emails.

Another important use case for Box - Intelligent Content Management is managing project-related information across different teams. Developers, designers, and project managers often need access to the same documents. Having organized files, clear permissions, and a central place for information makes collaboration smoother and helps avoid confusion with multiple file versions.

How has it helped my organization?

Box - Intelligent Content Management offers the main potential benefit of spending less time searching for documents and managing the file sharing process. The information is organized and easy to access, allowing teams to focus more on their actual work. Workflow automations can also help reduce repetitive tasks and unnecessary follow-ups.

Features like document search, file sharing, and workflow automations can reduce manual work and help improve team productivity, though I do not have exact numbers for the time saved or cost reduction.

    What is most valuable?

The features I would highlight for Box - Intelligent Content Management are secure file sharing, document collaboration, access controls, workflow automations, and AI-powered content search. These capabilities are useful because they help teams find information, manage documents, and reduce repetitive work.

Integrations are an important part of Box - Intelligent Content Management because teams often use multiple tools in their daily work. Connecting documents with existing business tools makes collaboration smoother and reduces manual work. The user interface is quite important as well, since easy navigation, quick search, and simple file sharing can make a significant difference in overall user experience.

    What needs improvement?

Some advanced features of Box - Intelligent Content Management could be easier for new users to understand. Better onboarding, simple setups, and clear examples for integration and automations would help a team get started faster.

The integration setup for Box - Intelligent Content Management could be more straightforward, especially for teams connecting different tools. Clearer pricing and plan comparisons would also help businesses understand which features they need and what they will pay for.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Box - Intelligent Content Management is an important part of any content management platform. Quick responses, clear guidance, and effective problem solving can make a difference, especially when dealing with technical issues or integrations. I would rate the customer support for Box - Intelligent Content Management an eight.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before using Box - Intelligent Content Management, we tried other tools like Google Drive and SharePoint, which are also commonly used for document management and file sharing. The main reason to consider switching would be better document organization, access control, collaboration, and workflow automations. The right choice depends on the team's needs and existing tools.

    What was our ROI?

The potential return on investment with Box - Intelligent Content Management comes from reducing manual document handling, making information easier to find, and simplifying approval workflows. Actual user data would be needed to provide a reliable estimate on time saved or money saved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with Box - Intelligent Content Management pricing and setup involves details like the price and licensing depending on team size and the features needed. The setup should be relatively straightforward for basic use, but configuring permissions, integrations, and advanced workflows may require some planning. I would recommend comparing the available plans carefully to ensure the features and overall costs fit business requirements.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Google Drive and SharePoint before choosing Box - Intelligent Content Management.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Box - Intelligent Content Management an eight out of ten because it offers useful content management, collaboration, and security capabilities. I would leave room for improvement in areas such as ease of setup, pricing clarity, and the learning curve for advanced features.

In governance, Box - Intelligent Content Management AI governance and security are quite important when using AI with company documents. Clear control and transparency about how content is processed is essential. It should also respect existing permissions and protect sensitive business information.

AI can be useful for Box - Intelligent Content Management in searching documents, summarizing information, and finding relevant details. However, important information should be verified against the original documents before using it for business decisions.

Box - Intelligent Content Management is available as a cloud-based content management service.

My advice to others looking into using Box - Intelligent Content Management would be to first understand your team's document management and collaboration needs. Box - Intelligent Content Management offers useful features such as secure file sharing, access controls, integration, and workflow automations.

Secure content sharing has transformed large-file collaboration and saves time across teams

    Reviewed on Oct 25, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our main use case for Box - Intelligent Content Management is for file sharing, secure file sharing, and content management, and the AI features are quite valuable.

When it comes to sharing files securely, it is not usually possible on email because emails have limitations of about 25 megabytes. We use Box - Intelligent Content Management, which provides a secure link to the receiver to click and access. The AI features help in saving storage and reducing duplicate content.

Box - Intelligent Content Management is quite cost-effective, so we have multiple teams using it. The receiver does not have to have an account to access data.

How has it helped my organization?

Box - Intelligent Content Management has definitely helped in seamless content sharing and content management, which usually is not the case when there are limitations with email attachments.

I have definitely noticed time saved because we have a platform that is reliable when it comes to uploading data that is large in terms of size. It also helps in reducing issues because we do not have to keep looking at multiple platforms.

    What is most valuable?

The best features of Box - Intelligent Content Management are secure content sharing, file formatting, and the ability to load without any restrictions.

The secure content sharing and formatting features are useful because they provide that secure sense that your data is not going to be compromised. Box - Intelligent Content Management stands out compared to most of the other platforms we have used, purely from the security standpoint. It also helps in not having a rate limit when it comes to uploading capabilities, as upload is done as well as your internet connection.

Regarding Box - Intelligent Content Management's AI capabilities, I feel it is very secure in terms of utilization. Although we do not use too much of the AI capabilities since it is an online file sharing cloud-based platform, I feel it is secure.

    What needs improvement?

There is nothing major to call out in terms of improvements for Box - Intelligent Content Management; I think it is good at what it does.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Box - Intelligent Content Management for the past two years.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Box - Intelligent Content Management a nine.

I think Box - Intelligent Content Management is a pretty good platform to use, and we have been using it for the last two years. Perhaps in the future it could get a 10 out of 10.

My advice to others looking into using Box - Intelligent Content Management is that it is definitely something which you can try as a trial before you buy.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Centralized document hub has improved secure collaboration and streamlined daily work

    Reviewed on Oct 23, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for using Box - Intelligent Content Management is for centralized document management and team collaboration. I use it to store and organize business files, share documents with colleagues, and manage access permissions so the right people can access the right information. It also helps keep documents organized in one place and reduce the back and forth of sharing files through emails.

For day-to-day work with Box - Intelligent Content Management, I mainly use it to organize project documents, share files with team members, and keep everyone working from the same set of information. For example, when we are working on a project, we can keep requirements, reference documents, and updated files in a shared folder. Instead of sending multiple attachments over email, team members can access the latest version based on their permission, which makes collaboration easier and helps avoid confusion about which file is current.

How has it helped my organization?

Box - Intelligent Content Management has positively impacted my organization by improving the way our team manages and shares information. Instead of searching through emails or keeping documents scattered across different locations, we can access project files from a centralized place. It has also made collaboration smoother because team members can work with shared documents and access the latest version. Another positive impact is better control over sensitive information through permission settings. Overall, Box - Intelligent Content Management has helped us maintain a more organized workflow and spend less time managing files manually.

The specific outcomes from using Box - Intelligent Content Management include the time saved in finding, sharing, and updating documents. Previously, coordinating with files through emails could involve several messages to make sure everyone had the right version. With Box - Intelligent Content Management, shared folders make the process more straightforward, and the team can access the information they need in one place. We have not formally measured the exact time saved, so I would not give a specific percentage, but the improvement in organization and day-to-day coordination has been noticeable.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Box - Intelligent Content Management offers include secure file sharing, access permission, version history, and Box Secure. Secure sharing makes it easy to collaborate with team members without losing control over who can access and save documents. Version history is useful when we need to review or restore an earlier version of a file. I also appreciate Box AI because it can summarize lengthy documents and help find important information more quickly. Overall, these features make document management and collaboration well-organized and efficient.

Out of the features Box - Intelligent Content Management offers, the one I use most often is secure file sharing with a shared folder because it makes day-to-day collaboration much easier. I can keep project documents organized and give team members access without repeatedly sending files back and forth. One feature I'd like to use more often is Box AI, especially for summarizing lengthy documents and extracting the key information. I think it could save time when reviewing a large amount of project documentation.

Regarding Box - Intelligent Content Management's AI capabilities, I think Box has a strong approach to AI governance and security. I appreciate that AI access respects existing file permissions, which helps prevent users from accessing information that they are not authorized to see. Security control and audit capabilities are also important for keeping sensitive business content protected. I'd still like to see clearer visibility into how AI accesses and processes data.

Regarding Box - Intelligent Content Management's AI capabilities, I find Box AI is useful for summarizing documents and extracting key information, and the results are generally helpful for routine tasks. However, accuracy can vary depending on the document and the complexity of the question. I would still verify details before relying on the output, especially for business-critical decisions.

    What needs improvement?

Box - Intelligent Content Management could improve by making the interface more intuitive for new users and simplifying some advanced settings. I'd appreciate more affordable pricing options and smoother performance when working with large files.

Based on my experience with Box - Intelligent Content Management, I'd appreciate tighter integration with other productivity tools, more fine-grained controls for notifications, and faster upload and sync for large files. Improving the search experience to quickly find specific information within documents would also make Box - Intelligent Content Management even more useful.

For how long have I used the solution?

My experience managing business content in Box - Intelligent Content Management involves collaborating on documents and using the platform to keep files organized and accessible across teams. I value the combination of secure file sharing, access controls, and workflow features, and I'd prefer to share what has worked well and where I see room for improvement. I have around 16 months of experience working with Box - Intelligent Content Management and intelligent content management solutions.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Box - Intelligent Content Management is very stable in my experience, with file sharing, security, and collaboration all functioning well.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Box - Intelligent Content Management scales effectively as a team because you can add users, expand storage, and manage access permissions centrally. It also supports collaboration across different teams and locations without requiring changes to the existing setup. It offers good flexibility for a growing business, although licensing costs can increase as usage expands.

How are customer service and support?

Support for Box - Intelligent Content Management is good. For more complex technical problems, it can sometimes take longer. I'd appreciate faster response times for more personalized support and advanced issues.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Box - Intelligent Content Management is the first solution my company ever used.

    What was our ROI?

I see a return on investment with Box - Intelligent Content Management, mainly through improved team efficiency and less time spent managing document or file versions. The return has mainly been in time saved rather than direct cost reduction. For example, when multiple team members need the same project document, we can access them from a shared Box - Intelligent Content Management folder instead of repeatedly requesting files through emails. This reduces delays and makes updates easier to manage. We have not tracked exact monetary savings or reduced head count, but the practical benefit is smoother collaboration and less time spent managing documents.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with Box - Intelligent Content Management regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing shows that the pricing is reasonable for the features it offers, but cost can increase depending on the plan, storage needs, and advanced security features. Setup is relatively straightforward, but choosing the right license plan can take some planning. I'd appreciate more flexible pricing options for smaller teams.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Box - Intelligent Content Management an eight.

I chose an eight for Box - Intelligent Content Management because it does a good job of keeping documents organized, making file sharing easy, and supporting team collaboration with useful security controls. The main reason I didn't give it a ten is that some settings could be simpler, search could be more effective, and pricing could be more flexible.

I would suggest carefully assessing your company's team needs, security, and integration options with Box - Intelligent Content Management to make sure that the pricing and features are worth it. I'd also suggest testing the sharing and permission settings first so you can get the most value from the platform.

Centralized storage has transformed secure collaboration and reduced document errors significantly

    Reviewed on Oct 08, 2026
Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Box - Intelligent Content Management is that it is a great and simple tool to use that we use every day, especially to manage our files and send and share files and collaborate with different team members and departments.

Overall, it is a great tool for sharing our business items with the whole team to any location. In our industry, things are currently in the process of being moved to online storage from paper files. Box - Intelligent Content Management has made it really easy to store, transport, and track online processing of applications and data we need to use from multiple locations.

In the past, we used only paper files. If someone was in our second office, we would need to have something fixed to us, and the quality would be really low. Box - Intelligent Content Management has allowed us to store things and get access to them from any location, which has been really great and has saved us a lot of time and also reduced a lot of errors while handling large files.

A quick specific example of how my team and I use Box - Intelligent Content Management to collaborate or manage files in our day-to-day work is that our clients in other countries can share all documents with us in a matter of seconds. We can also work on different projects for different clients while collaborating in those projects, sharing project files very securely.

Box - Intelligent Content Management provides strong security and detailed management controls, which are extremely important to me and especially helpful when I need to keep contracts and other documents protected, and the sharing features are a big advantage when I'm working with regulated confidential data.

Box - Intelligent Content Management has continued to improve with updates and adjustments that make it work with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace smoothly and straightforwardly and has been a solid option for business document storage, helping me keep everything organized, secure, and properly stored.

How has it helped my organization?

Box - Intelligent Content Management has positively impacted my organization by being really great and helpful for the past two years I have been using it. It has made collaboration much easier. Also, security has improved, especially when dealing with confidential data.

Storage is great and has been helpful for managing documents by allowing me to set the right permissions.

Mobile access is a big plus since it is really convenient when I am away from my desk. It also automates workflows with every modern app, which makes routine tasks feel more streamlined and saves a lot of time. Additionally, it is a great, secure file sharing and collaboration tool.

A specific outcome that shows how Box - Intelligent Content Management has improved my work or my team's work is the reduction in errors. Since we do not have to deal with the files manually, the reduction in errors has been notable at approximately eighty percent. We have also been able to save a lot of time, with seventy to eighty percent of our time being saved. Additionally, collaboration has improved by eighty percent.

    What is most valuable?

The best features that Box - Intelligent Content Management offers include security controls, smooth integrations with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, an intuitive interface, and it is user-friendly and easy to use.

Regarding the security controls, we are able to integrate it with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for smoother collaboration and file sharing. Security controls allow us to restrict certain files to certain users who can access them and those who cannot access them. This ensures that the security becomes very top-notch. I love Box - Intelligent Content Management's ability to manage permissions and streamline workflows where it enhances productivity, especially when dealing with or handling sensitive information.

I also love the interface of Box - Intelligent Content Management, which is user-friendly and easy to customize. This makes it very easy to use, even for new users.

    What needs improvement?

One aspect of Box - Intelligent Content Management that could be improved is the search functionality, which can occasionally be slow or less intuitive when locating specific files with large repositories.

Additionally, some of the advanced administrative and security features have a learning curve and may require additional training for new users.

For how long have I used the solution?

For contract management, I have been using Box - Intelligent Content Management for at least two years.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Box - Intelligent Content Management nine out of ten. I chose this rating because I love its ease of use, secure file sharing capabilities, and seamless collaboration. This makes it simple to store, organize, and access documents from anywhere while maintaining strong security and compliance controls.

Regarding Box - Intelligent Content Management's AI capabilities, I will be very brief. In my organization, we are very strict with AI, so we do not use that AI feature, but I think it is quite straightforward and accurate. Box - Intelligent Content Management's AI capabilities are very accurate.

I purchased Box - Intelligent Content Management through the AWS Marketplace.

The advice I would give to others looking into using Box - Intelligent Content Management is that it is a secure file sharing and collaboration tool that improves collaboration. It also helps to solve challenges of securely storing, managing, and sharing business documents across teams and locations by providing a centralized platform where employees can easily access the latest versions of files, collaborate in real time, and maintain proper document control. In return, it reduces the need for email attachments, minimizes versioning issues, and improves overall team productivity, making it a very recommendable tool.

Structured folders and bulk uploads have reduced errors and save time on large media deliveries

    Reviewed on Oct 06, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Box - Intelligent Content Management is sending large files, such as MP3, MP4 files, and large assets as a delivery system so that we are able to download and import them into our CMS.

Regarding how that process works for me, we set up folders based on which clients we were dealing with.

We had a naming convention that we created for our clients to follow when they send over their material, making it easy for us to identify.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Box - Intelligent Content Management offers is how it packages everything into one folder, making it easy to locate and find everything despite how many times folks are sending things.

I found the search feature very helpful, but the organization of the folders stands out for me.

Box - Intelligent Content Management has positively impacted my organization by making it easier for us to receive assets, allowing bulk sending instead of having assets sent to us one at a time.

I can share specific outcomes or metrics: there is about a 90% reduction in errors. We would not have an upload delivery of sent files fail, as files were coming in on Box - Intelligent Content Management based on how they were sent, in the groupings they were in, and even if the time for larger files takes a bit more, it lets us know when everything has landed in the folder and is ready for us. This has provided very good communication, so we are not pulling things if they are not fully downloaded yet or sent through.

    What needs improvement?

Box - Intelligent Content Management can be improved by using a bit more AI, making it easier and more user-friendly to drop things in, with the ability for folks to zip things or drop one asset at a time so that it groups them all together, giving them an option to group everything together.

I chose eight specifically because the functionality that we needed it for works, and where we are right now with technology, at a 10, I think any program or technology can be improved to keep moving as fast as AI is. It needs to keep up with it and incorporate some ideas to help folks who need assets to come quicker or perhaps suggest more tags to identify them. We had a specific naming convention, and I know others might not do that, so perhaps it could help them suggest how to name the files.

For how long have I used the solution?

I had used Box - Intelligent Content Management for about three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Box - Intelligent Content Management is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Regarding Box - Intelligent Content Management's scalability in my experience, I think it is good; it can handle the volume that we needed to be sent over and sent back for our purposes.

How are customer service and support?

I have never dealt with customer support for Box - Intelligent Content Management.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Box - Intelligent Content Management, we were using MassTransit, and as our assets grew and we started working with different types of assets, into the MP3 and MP4 world, we needed a system that could handle it and send it in a timely fashion while also grouping it together in the folder area where we could pull everything.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Box - Intelligent Content Management; I would say time was saved as instead of hours of somebody sitting there uploading files another way, such as MassTransit or zipping them, Box - Intelligent Content Management probably saved 90% of the time.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Box - Intelligent Content Management an eight. No system is perfect, but it does get the job done for what we need.

Regarding Box - Intelligent Content Management's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security are good, but we always need to continue to stay on top and grow with governance and security with AI; that is the same for any product, and I would say that same recommendation applies.

Regarding Box - Intelligent Content Management's AI capabilities concerning its accuracy and reliability of output, I think it is pretty good, but with the way AI is evolving, it could always be better.

I do not handle the cloud provider we use for our private cloud, so I do not know.

My advice to others looking into using Box - Intelligent Content Management is that the setup could be a little bit of a process to work through, but I also suggest having an idea of how you want your folder structure set up, possibly how you want your assets named so that when you receive them, you understand what you are receiving and where it is going, making it easier to quickly move things and download them or upload them to a CMS system.

Secure file governance has improved collaboration and automation for client document workflows

    Reviewed on Aug 16, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Box - Intelligent Content Management is used for file storage for clients and provides a secure way to share files with other people as well as internally with our team.

Box - Intelligent Content Management is integrated with our cloud instance, allowing us to query files based on natural language. This helps us pull up different programs we might have saved or documents that are in there that we can access, review, and share out if needed.

The other primary function is that it's our main file share solution that we suggest out to clients, just because of the ease of use and the customization settings that have been available.

    What is most valuable?

The best features are around security, being able to set up different groups, and the governance features are really great. The new AI functionality that they released has been pretty handy.

For governance and security, the audit trail capability is excellent. We are able to see when people interact or change files or if something was deleted, and we can go through and review that audit trail. The AI has been great for creating different workflows that we are able to execute. When a form gets submitted into Box - Intelligent Content Management or a file is uploaded, there are certain automations that we can put in place to where it can essentially generate tickets in our system for new users or other tasks.

    What needs improvement?

I would suggest more out-of-the-box integrations as far as the automations go. Box - Intelligent Content Management has many templates, and you can customize some things, but there appear to be some limitations to those. If they could open that up more, it would be beneficial.

Additional customization with the automation workflows that Box - Intelligent Content Management offers would be helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been in this field for seven years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is excellent. Adding or removing people is very easy. Box - Intelligent Content Management plans have unlimited data, which is great. If you are adding more files, it is easy to just add and continue.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support is adequate. I find it rather difficult to get in touch with someone, but typically once you do, they are able to provide assistance on whatever you need.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were using SharePoint from Microsoft, and we switched because Box - Intelligent Content Management is easier to interact with and share files with people. SharePoint is a little cumbersome for our needs because of the different sites and everything you would need to set up.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Box - Intelligent Content Management has fairly good pricing for licenses, especially if you do an annual plan. We always suggest our clients do a month-to-month plan so that they have flexibility to go up or down if they are onboarding or offboarding users.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked at Dropbox as well, but the Mac integration with Dropbox is not as good as Box - Intelligent Content Management's.

What other advice do I have?

Box - Intelligent Content Management is a private cloud solution. We use Box - Intelligent Content Management servers in order to house the data.

It gives our clients and our team members another way to access it, so you do not have to go through the web. The way Apple has everything set up with cloud storage integration is very seamless, and Box - Intelligent Content Management seems to be on top of changes that Apple makes. They adapt very quickly to that.

With us being an all Mac managed service provider, we find that the integration Box - Intelligent Content Management has with Finder is really good with the syncing. It is probably one of the better file-sharing solutions when it comes to that, which is the big reason why we suggest it out to our clients.

If you do not have any kind of folder structure currently, you should put that in place prior to adding your data into Box - Intelligent Content Management. This way you can start with a clean slate in a proper folder structure.

Box - Intelligent Content Management has a formal partner program, and we do have contacts within Box - Intelligent Content Management specifically that we leverage with our clients. I would rate this product a 9 overall.

Structured cloud storage has streamlined document collaboration and automated workflows

    Reviewed on May 11, 2026
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Box is storing cloud content on its cloud and managing it as a collaborating platform so that I can store secure files and share through Box. I use it for document management and in my automations.

When I open Box day-to-day or week-to-week, I look for organizing the files first, as document sharing is my main focus on the Box platform.

The scope of my use of Box is mostly solo only; it is on my personal account.

    What is most valuable?

The best features of Box for me include the structured file organizing, which is the most important part I found. Apart from that, secure sharing and integration with automation platforms, along with its smooth integration and usage in automations, is a very big plus for me. That is the reason I shifted from other platforms to Box.

Box has impacted my work by providing essential file structuring, which is the most important part of any cloud storing platform, and it stood out. What piqued my interest more is the use of Box and the smoother process in integrating it into my workflows, another major plus point that I considered when deciding which platform to choose.

Additionally, I recall that there are features in Box related to signing signatures that I did not use during my internship, although I would have if I had used Box for my current work. That is one feature I think I have not explored yet.

    What needs improvement?

The biggest friction point I have encountered with Box is mainly the pricing part; I think five dollars for this platform is not necessarily justified. While I have used it for integrating and using it as a cloud platform, I have not encountered any significant negative aspects. A few times, I might have faced performance issues, but I am uncertain whether that was due to the automation platform or Box itself. Overall, the only thing I could mention is that it can take a little time to understand how the integration works with Box; setup and figuring out what can and cannot be done might take some time, but other than that, I do not think anything else bothered me.

One thing I would want Box to introduce to improve the platform and make it stand out even more would be incorporating AI. For example, the only way to identify documents shared in Box currently is by their names, and if those names are not precise, I can get confused. If Box had an AI feature to summarize and identify documents based on their contents, it would significantly enhance usability. AI is essential for making work easier, so that would be an excellent addition to the platform.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Box since I used it last year, and I had used it many times for my previous internships.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before I landed on Box, I was storing files in Google Drive, but I moved from Google Drive to Box because I was building workflow automations during my last internship. While I was working there, I was fetching documents that I saved or creating new documents, and I faced limitations with Google Drive. Instead, I moved to Box where file storing was very structured, and the automation part was smoother, so I shifted to Box.

When evaluating options, I did not specifically go through many platforms to finalize on Box; the reason was simple. I just wanted to store documents and access them easily. Besides Google Drive, I was also using Microsoft's OneDrive, which is similar in storing documents on the cloud. However, for me, the automation was of higher priority or importance, and the only platform that stood out among the three was Box. So I moved to Box and used it in my automation workflow.

    How was the initial setup?

When I first implemented Box, it took hardly half an hour or even less to get up and running, as I did not have to give much more time into setting up the platform.

    What about the implementation team?

My team did not need any formal training on Box, as it was pretty intuitive to pick up, and it was just me using it to store files and then sharing them with others.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Box a nine because I do not think there is anything to point out negatively for the platform. If I were to guide newcomers, I would advise them to go through the documentation first, as understanding the platform depends on that. The documentation for Box is superb, and if you understand it well, there should not be any issues that you will face. There may be minimal time consumed for integrating or understanding how Box can be integrated into the automation platform, but I do not think there is much of a learning curve needed for this type of platform. I rated this review a nine overall.

Team collaboration has improved through shared access and real-time synchronization

    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Box, Delphi, and IBM FileNet. I worked for a software company as a project manager, and this experience includes FileNet. I also used Delphi for programming work. I am familiar enough with Box to answer questions about it.

    What is most valuable?

I find the synchronization feature most valuable in Box. When I use multiple devices, it syncs them together and gives excellent results.

I can assess the benefits of Box's file sharing. Box's integration with third-party apps is valuable, especially with Outlook.

Box has helped my team's productivity by being very helpful with team collaboration when we are sharing certain shared documents between us.

I mostly value Box's automation capabilities. They have helped optimize my business processes by saving time for sharing or sending files between the team. This gives us a shared workspace to work together on the same document or the same ideas.

Box's security features have helped my organization meet compliance needs.

    What needs improvement?

I believe Box has a lot of features that put it in a good rank among the file-sharing apps. I would like to see features for online collaboration between team members in the future, to open and see who is accessing the document now and see my movements across the document or the file we are sharing together.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been dealing with Box since 2013.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I did not use any metrics to evaluate Box's effect on my team's workflow efficiency.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I left IBM totally, and I work in another technology stack now instead of IBM FileNet. I am not using anything in particular at the moment.

    How was the initial setup?

Box is very easy to use and easy to implement. I did not need to refer to any support regarding any issue that appeared to me.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I found the pricing reasonable because when I was working for an IBM partner, Box was free for us. We did not go to payment and other matters like this.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Box is one of the top three file-sharing apps in the market. I have used Drive and OneDrive, but Box has many more features than both.

What other advice do I have?

I would like to see features for online collaboration between team members in the future, to open and see who is accessing the document now and see my movements across the document or the file we are sharing together.

I would generally recommend Box to others. I was a user of Box, a good user, and I was an appreciated user.

My review rating for Box is 9.5.

What is our primary use case?

I primarily used Box for storage. It was used for storing projects, organizing folders within projects, and maintaining a record of files.

    What is most valuable?

Box had a very easy-to-use search feature and a good user interface on its website, which was faster and better than SharePoint. It provided a very good foldering system, making it excellent for storage. The stability and latency were excellent, and there were no issues encountered, ensuring efficient file storage and retrieval.

    What needs improvement?

Collaborative editing was challenging if multiple people were in a document at once. The installation procedure was tricky but manageable with provided guidance and steps.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used Box for about eighteen months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Box was very stable and did not have any latency issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Box is probably best suited for a fifty to one hundred person firm. I am uncertain about its effectiveness at an enterprise level, where SharePoint might be preferred.

How are customer service and support?

I never needed to use tech support from Box.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In a previous job, I used SharePoint and found it clunky as a website compared to Box. I also used Box for backup.

    How was the initial setup?

The installation procedure was a bit finicky, but we had guidance on how to complete it.

    What about the implementation team?

Only one person wrote the instructions for installation that were emailed to us.

    What was our ROI?

Box definitely saved time and served its purpose by providing efficient storage and retrieval of files.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I was not involved in discussions about paying for Box, so I cannot provide specifics about pricing.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Box eight out of ten. While I am not a full promoter, I am a high passive.

Enables document management and access control, but the price must be reduced

    Reviewed on Aug 15, 2024
    Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We have integrated Box into our platform. I use Box to store documents. Box has document management and e-signature features.

How has it helped my organization?

If we close a deal, the agreement will contain the details of what we will charge the customers. We can use Box to add an access control so that only those with access can view the commercial details. Others would not be able to see it. If I write a technical document about a new feature I want to create, I would not want it to get into the wrong hands. So I can provide controlled access to my team members using Box.

    What is most valuable?

Box is a great product. We can provide controlled access to documents using the product. The features work fine. Box makes sense as an enterprise solution. The product has an in-built e-signature feature. If we want to sign a document, we can do it with the help of Box.

    What needs improvement?

    The price must be lowered.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven’t seen any issues with the product’s stability. It is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    The tool is scalable.

    How was the initial setup?

The setup is very straightforward. The setup hardly takes 10 to 15 minutes. I use the cloud version of the tool.

    What about the implementation team?

We can refer to the documentation to do the setup in-house.

What other advice do I have?

We use SharePoint for document management.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven or eight out of ten.
