Streamlined Communication Hub with Efficient Workflow Automation Is The Best Strength Of Brightspot
What do you like best about the product?
Several things that I like with Brightspot is the automated workflow engine, because it makes my work easy. I can set up a complex chain of command approval, and it ensures everything follows the proper channel and gets the required approvals before publishing. This makes the workflow efficient by showing me the step-by-step process, so I don't miss anyone's sign-off. Another thing I appreciate is the out-of-the-box social integration, which made the initial rollout very smooth. We were able to link our corporate LinkedIn and Twitter accounts in minutes, allowing our social team to start drafting and scheduling external posts directly from the CMS on the first day of implementation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have some dislikes, and one of them is the initial learning curve for the "Dari" team framework, which is the underlying data modeling layer. It's quite steep for our back-end developers. I would love to see more low-code ways to modify the task schema without needing to dive deep into the Java-based back-end architecture for every edit that I want to change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Brightspot to distribute critical updates and policy documents globally, solving manual distribution issues. Its automated workflow engine streamlines approvals, ensuring compliance without missing steps.
Centralized Asset Management with Brightspot Is Quite Easy
What do you like best about the product?
What I like the most is the Brightspot toolkit, especially the browser extension. It allows me to audit SEO and accessibility directly on the live site without needing to switch back to the admin dashboard, which saves me time and speeds up my workflow. I also enjoy the new AB testing dashboard because I can run content experiments on our homepage headlines and see results in real-time without requiring any developer assistance. Additionally, the Brightspot tours feature was essential for our nontechnical staff during the rollout. It provided self-guided, role-based workflows that significantly cut down our total onboarding time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial content modeling piece is quite a heavy lift and requires a very clear plan for your data architecture before you even begin the install. If you don't have technical leads to help map how your content types relate to each other, the sheer flexibility of the system can feel a bit overwhelming and it's easy to overcomplicate it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Brightspot as a centralized newsroom and asset library, solving outdated branding issues by ensuring all departments use approved, updated media. It locks brand elements and pushes updates globally, maintaining consistent visual identity across microsites.
Seamless Publishing Across Channels with Brightspot
What do you like best about the product?
What I love about Brightspot is they are perfect platform for managing our channel publishing strategy, especially for distributing content across web properties, mobile apps, and social media feeds simultaneously. It serves as a single source of truth that fits our business front end display without needing to reformat content for each device screen. I also appreciate the real-time collaboration editing, allowing multiple writers and editors to work on the same piece of content without being physically together, which simplifies my day by showing exactly who is making changes in real time. This feature has eliminated the need for checking revisions through external documents. Additionally, the article processing time is shortened, making it easier and faster to approve articles. The integration process was surprisingly seamless, and the Brightspot team provided a clear framework for mapping our historical data, which allowed us to migrate thousands of legacy articles into the new environment in about seven days.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform is incredibly flexible, the data modeling can be quite complex to wrap your head around at first. I'd like to see more interactive visual tutorials for setting up custom content tabs, as the current technical documentation can be a bit dense for those who aren't familiar with GraphQL.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Brightspot to manage our publishing strategy, solving content fragmentation by unifying our systems, which eases cross-referencing. The real-time collaboration simplifies editing, speeds up processing, and removes the need for external document revisions.
Brightspot’s Flexible Drag-and-Drop Builder Makes Multichannel Publishing Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Brightspot has a bunch of amazing content flexibility that really changes everything you can do with it. I love the drag and drop page builder because it lets us make custom layouts which feel simple and fast to get done. The multi channel publishing feature is great, we could put our stuff on website, app, or social media all at once without having to redo any of it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s the learning curve for new people who want to use it, they do need some time and maybe extra help from specialists which is annoying. And also, we got an admin panel that can be kind of slow if lots of users are on it or has too many pictures saved up. It isn't a deal breaker though, but sometimes you just want to get rid of those little issues so you don't waste any time with them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now, Brightspot is the best thing ever happen to our content process, we went from being stuck together here forever. Back then, lots of people were wasting time on their phones and computers which was all over the place, leaving us stressed out by delays everywhere. But now everything goes into one spot that’s easy for everyone to use called Brightspot so you don't have to worry about it anymore. We can get our content online at hand across every channel, plus we save time from hours down to just a few minutes.
Streamlined Digital Publishing with Brightspot Is Easy
What do you like best about the product?
I am happy how Brightspot acts as the backbone for our digital publishing, helping us manage content across several websites from one platform. It's a heavy-duty editor where my team can draft articles, organize our photo library, and push updates to our mobile apps. The biggest change has been the move towards a truly decoupled system, allowing our editors to create and change content without constantly asking the tech team for help. This has drastically cut down the time it takes to get a story live, since the editor team has total control over the page layout and metadata without needing to touch any code. Passing ID IT debts makes changes to content and the publishing process smoother and faster. The initial setup, though a project, was manageable due to the software's customization options and prebuilt teams, which allowed us to migrate our first site faster than expected.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there are too many features on the platform. It can be a bit much, and the interface sometimes feels crowded with buttons and menus that we don't always use. I think the platform could really use a simplified mode for contributors who only need to write text, as the full enterprise view can be a bit intimidating for guest posters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspot serves as the backbone for our digital publishing, allowing us to manage content across several websites from one platform. It enables us to organize our photo library, push updates to mobile apps, and provides a decoupled system for content creation, reducing reliance on the tech team.
Brightspot: Intuitive CMS with Robust Features and a Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I love how intuitive, dashboard-style interface in Brightspot that makes it easy for non-technical editors to build pages using modular components. It simplifies my work with built-in SEO tools and AI-powered productivity features that automate metadata generation and content tagging. I also appreciate the Dell Media Desk features, which streamline how we search for and repurpose assets from our massive content library without ever leaving the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
My dislike with Brightspot is that some of the more advanced customization options come with a fairly steep learning curve, which can be intimidating for new team members. The platform should improve by making its documentation more accessible for beginners and simplify the initial process of configuring custom workflows. Also, I have noticed the backend interface can occasionally experience slight lag when we are managing large datasets or complex permissions simultaneously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspot solves our issues with rigid templates and developer reliance by allowing independent content management from design. It eliminates chaos from managing multiple sites, enabling us to oversee our digital ecosystem with multisite management features.
Streamlined Multichannel Distribution with Robust Features By Brightspot
What do you like best about the product?
The high points for Brightspot for me include the side-by-side preview feature. It's a game changer, allowing me to see exactly how a story will look on multiple devices like smartphones, desktops, and Apple Watches simultaneously before I hit publish. I am also impressed by the permission granularity. It lets me give guest contributors access to only one specific folder without risking the security of the rest of the site. Additionally, the setup was quite easy and straightforward, guided by the setup wizard, taking only around three to four days to learn all the features and workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a bit challenging because while basic functions are easy to grasp, mastering advanced logic like setting up complex content relationships requires some dedicated training time. Additionally, the share power in the media desk can be taxing on hardware. If your team is working on a low spec laptop, the image editing interface might feel a little heavy. We also find that the initial content mapping from our old system took more planning than expected to ensure all our custom text migrated correctly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspot eliminates developer dependency, allowing nontechnical staff to build complex pages using a robust component library. It resolves archive costing issues with deep indexing, accurately resurfacing and repackaging valuable content.
Streamlined Content Management and Collaboration, but Customization Takes Time
What do you like best about the product?
I love using Brightspot as the center for all our digital storytelling, enabling us to create content once and publish it everywhere without jumping between different systems. The real-time collaboration tools are the best feature, allowing multiple editors to work on the same story simultaneously. I find the translation manager incredibly efficient, as it automatically pushes stories to our international sites while keeping the original layout intact. The style guidance integration is another highlight, catching any formatting or brand errors before writers even hit the submit button. The setup was easy due to highly guided processes and the integration hub, which made moving an entire company’s data simpler. The ability to use preconfigured blueprints to get our strategy ready in just a few days was impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Problem with Brightspot is they have so many choices that we can choose. The system is so customizable. It can take a bit of time to decide exactly how I want our dashboard to look. While the search is powerful, it works as it should be with our metadata. If our team doesn't tag things correctly, we won't get the most out of the features. We have also found that very large video uploads can occasionally slow down the interface, especially if our office internet connection is slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Brightspot as a central hub for digital storytelling, eliminating the need to switch between systems, which simplifies publishing. It solves content overload by organizing our massive library and allows no-code workspace management, streamlining our editorial process.
User-Friendly Permissions and Flexible Content Types Make Brightspot Easy to Adopt
What do you like best about the product?
I have worked with several different CMS and I find Brightspot to be one of the most user friendly permission structures. In my experience this is a huge plus when using a CMS that is being utilized by both technical and non-technical users. Our team members were able to learn how to use Brightspot quickly and I believe that this is the best indicator of success. I also like how the content types are setup within Brightspot as they give developers the ability to build applications that fit their business model and allow them to avoid a constant struggle with the CMS.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area where Brightspot falls short is in organizing the media library and this makes editing assets at scale, a very tedious task. A minor complaint I have with Brightspot is that when notifications appear (for example confirmation) they occasionally overlap directly onto the button(s) that you are attempting to click. As simple as this sounds, this is simply poor User Interface (UI) design and would have easily been avoided if tested thoroughly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Brightspot, we had our content scattered throughout various platforms that did not communicate well together and to push live updates, we would have to complete far too many unnecessary tasks. Today, using Brightspot, editors can come in, update web pages, and then push those changes live without needing to file a ticket for each update. Prior to implementing Brightspot, consistency across the entire site was one of our biggest concerns.
Now we can manage content publishing without daily confusion
What do you like best about the product?
Personally, I like best how Brightspot helps me in my day to day content activities without interrupting a flow between systems. I use it regularly, and its frequency of use is important in my job. It provides a secure amount of capabilities in asset and publication management. I have also connected it with Salesforce and internal catalog tools, which also assist in maintaining product content correct.
What do you dislike about the product?
Brightspot possesses some shortcomings that impact on my day to day activities. Not all tools can be readily located, thereby reducing usability in situations where I have to hurry. It also took longer than was initially planned to implement it, and this was primarily because of integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a solution to the challenge of handling high volumes of content in various channels. At my work place, I work with product pages and blog posts and this system makes everything on a single location. The features assist me in organizing and publishing quicker. I do it on a daily basis and the frequency of use indicates the necessity of the same.
