Easy to Share and Simple to Use

    Reviewed on Oct 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it’s easy to share, and it makes sense to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, the connectors are hard to figure out. Even if easy for one person to figure out, hard to give instructions to the whole company for different authorizations
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Runlayer for a company wide knowledge base. This helps us transition accounts pre to post sale without losing context, onboard new employees, and learn about new products

    Streamlining Data Into Useful Work

    Reviewed on Oct 23, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Allows us to connect systems to our AI tools. We use Runlayer to connect ChatGPT to Rippling, which lets me bring people data into one place to build and shape projects more efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’d like the setup and discovery experience to be more intuitive. It can take some trial and error to figure out which tools are available and how best to use them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Runlayer streamlines how I bring data into my AI tools, saving me time moving between systems and making it easier to turn information into useful work.

Runlayer: Centralised MCP Visibility with Top-Notch Support and Fast Releases

    Reviewed on Oct 20, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
A central place for all MCP connections, where we can manage permissions across different apps for different groups, and get a single pane of visibility into activity through a console that’s easy to navigate. On top of that, the support and onboarding have been top-notch, with Runlayer willing to work with us through any issue we run into, plus a crazy-fast release cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the security alerting and restrictions could use a bit of tuning, since they felt somewhat aggressive in terms of blocks and matches. That said, it’s understandable, given that DLP by nature is never perfect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We initially had to strike a balance between letting users work quickly and efficiently with AI tooling and making sure we could do it securely and correctly. Without the right controls, users would either connect anything and everything to their AI tools, or we would have to restrict and block everything that wasn’t vetted and approved with the app owners—and that approach felt very all-or-nothing. It also meant we’d be relying on user permissions being accurate and appropriate, and trusting that any actions the AI tools took would be acceptable. Otherwise, we’d be forced to either reduce general user permissions across the board or accept the risk of accidental writes by the AI tooling, for example.

Runlayer let us connect various tools while still setting fine-grained permissions specifically for AI functionality, without affecting users’ day-to-day use of those tools. Users can still read, write, etc. as their regular user, but for key systems, Runlayer allows us to limit what AI can do for that same user; for instance, restricting AI usage to read-only.

    Accessible AI Governance

    Reviewed on Oct 14, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Runlayer fills a need in our internal AI stack. I like the interface; it’s relatively easy to use. As a daily user and admin, I find it pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it. I also like the support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes find Runlayer difficult to debug, but the team is always there to support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Runlayer for security and governance of our internal AI tools.

High-Performance MCP Gateway, but Skill Distribution Falls Short

    Reviewed on Oct 13, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I find Runlayer high-performing, easy to deploy, reasonably priced, and a good user experience. I can connect my corporate resources through Runlayer. I like that it supports a wide variety of plugins and makes onboarding our own MCPs easy. The MCP gateway routes our MCPs, redacts sensitive information, gives me visibility into their usage, and helps identify issues and gaps so we can make our MCPs more efficient. I also find the skill scanner useful for spotting vulnerabilities and other issues that can be hard to notice. Setup on ECS was pretty easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't find Runlayer's skill distribution channel that useful. The skill scanner supports Git repositories, but we do our own skill distribution because the channel just didn't really work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Runlayer for detailed auditing of SIEM solutions, potential reduction and filtering of sensitive information so it doesn’t get exposed to agents, and good visibility into agentic tool usage.

Simplifies Teamwide AI Tool Sharing, With Some Invocation Hurdles

    Reviewed on Oct 09, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like that once we create a skill for the AI or a new connector, everyone can use it. The security checks are sometimes nice. What I like most is that Runlayer has its own internal MCP connector, so I can connect it to my AI assistant, ask how to do something, and have it read the documentation or make actions in Runlayer for me. The initial setup was really easy because the Runlayer team had everything set up, and they are always there if we have questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that when we have a lot of skills and connectors but only want to use some of them, they are hidden behind another MCP with only a search tool and an execute tool. Sometimes the skills are not invoked as they should because they are behind that additional layer. Maybe ease up a little bit on the security reviews of skills.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we write an AI skill or create a connector, everyone can use it. Runlayer’s security checks are sometimes nice, and its internal MCP connector lets me ask my AI assistant how to do something when that can be a challenge.

    Unified Tool Governance Made Easy

    Reviewed on Oct 08, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use. Runlayer lets our entire team consolidate tool access through a unified governance layer, which makes it easy for both the consumers of those tools and their governance. I wasn’t involved in the initial deployment, but it seems like it went pretty smoothly.
What do you dislike about the product?
As an admin the approval process can be a bit clunky. I also wish there was a way to setup new oauth clients globally and not per connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Runlayer to consolidate our team’s tool access through a unified governance layer, making it easy for both tool consumers and governance.
