Reliable servers and good support

  • August 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The sites have had very little downtime if at all. The support is usually pretty good, helping us out usually rather quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times when using command line tools like Terminus and GIT when doing things with Composer where things sometimes just "get stuck" on Pantheon's side and they have to fix it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently not using Pantheon for any problem solving.

Best WebOps/DevOps platform

  • August 12, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been Pantheon user since it was started and this is best WebOps/DevOps platform. It has great UI for both coders and site builders, supports both terminal operations and UI operations, supports three major CMS (Wordpress, BackdropCMS and Drupal), works with custom upstream, etc. One of the greatest about this platform is exemplary customer support that always exceeds expectations!!
What do you dislike about the product?
Billing could be set up better for larger organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pantheon solving all problems with setting web environments, providing dev and stage and multidev (all is done instantly), moving code, db and files between environments and allowing me to spend time on actual site building adn web development instead of spending hours on devOps.

From unknowns to custom transparency

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the consistent framework that Pantheon provides for spinning up a continuous integration continuous development pipeline. We were not able to have access to these features in our previous host and spent a lot of time debugging around the provided processes. In Pantheon, they provide you with a solid process, tools for that process (terminus), and the freedom to build your own pipeline. This has been a game changer as we have gotten our deployment down from over 3 hours to, at max, 15 minutes. Along with this is their customer support - it is by far the best support I have ever received from a company. I will have actionable insights by the end of the day without having to write a novel and wait for requests for additional information on our issue from people who clearly did not know our specific product.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times the roll your own pipeline can be frustrating, especially when debugging an issue that you've created yourself. I'll look back ever once in awhile and think a process would be easier if there was just a turn-key solution for this one use case, but then I remember all of the additional things we get access to such as parallel deployment, multidev, integration with GitHub Actions, Terminus, more solid environments. With all the added benefits the extra time to build something specific for use case makes this the perfect hosting platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a single code-base that is used to power hundreds of sites. We needed a hosting partner that could support being able to make a single update in this codebase and in a single update with a development crew of three people (two front-end developers and one back-end) push this out to all hundreds of these sites. From the get go, I was able to transfer all these sites from the previous hosting environment to Pantheon in a single day. This did require an on-ramp of about three months to develop the custom scripting but the actual work took less than a day. Updating DNS took a little longer as anticipated; however, in Pantheon with Terminus we've greatly integrated GitHub Actions for a solid ci/cd pipeline that is bulletproof.

We run through cypress testing, linting and Drupal Code standards before the code is even pushed to Dev. We have up to 10 open pull requests at any time where we can go to our canary sites and test with live data. Then we we go to publish a release we use Autopilot to for visual regression testing. We're no longer debugging build issues at the time of release as these are all ironed out before the code even makes it to multidev. I calculated this out to about 52 hours I personally get back every year. This allows us to add additional safe-guards.

For example, we have one chunk of code that always requires a database update if our front-end devs touch it. They always forget, so we now have an additional check in GitHub to make sure if those files are checked that additional approvals are needed. I would not have had this time to develop these extra tools in our previous host.

Additionally, I have further developed out local development processes to be more streamlined with this added time such as adding hash checks to see if we really need a composer build or theme build when merging in other work. With the guardrails that Pantheon puts in place that standardizes how builds should be once you crack your pipeline you can focus on building the tools that will help you build more with less.

Reliable, Transparent, and Perfect for Streamlined Web Development

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon’s transparency is outstanding. They openly communicate about any issues and provide timely, detailed feedback, which builds trust. Their platform streamlines every aspect of website management, development, and deployment. It’s built for speed and efficiency, allowing our team to build, test, and iterate changes quickly without unnecessary complexity.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform is robust, some advanced configurations require extra technical know-how, which could be challenging for smaller teams without dedicated developers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In higher education, we manage a wide range of websites with varying needs. Pantheon makes this manageable by simplifying operations, standardizing workflows, and ensuring reliable performance. This has saved our team significant time and reduced deployment-related issues.

Pantheon is a great value WHEN services are used

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tightly integrated Composer build process, Visual Regression Testing, feature branch testing and caching (both front end and database).
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of included log visualization beyond realtime/NewRelic and basic dashboark metrics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having access to a world class devops solution without the costs of keeping that expertise on staff internally.

Pantheon's webops dashboard takes care of your workflow for you

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like developing sites on Pantheon. Being able to spin up a copy of the site from a git branch, having git integrated with each sandbox so I don't have to set up any devops or deployment scripts myself, the one-click deployment to test and live, the one-click syncing... it's all so easy to use. And all this is out-of-the-box in the free sandbox environments, before you pay for anything. It makes starting a site build so much easier, and maintaining a live site securely is a piece of cake too. I've been building websites for 20 years and it's my favorite hosting environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hosting on Pantheon isn't cheap! But you get what you pay for, with great server-level security, and the built-in webops means you're saving time not setting up your own workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pantheon makes it easy to have a website with a complete CI cycle without having to do any of the work yourself. Contractors can be onboarded quickly, the Lando integration means local setup is easy, and the dashboard is easy to figure out.

Easy, straight forward, supportive

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can speak to a support member easily if I run into problems with my website. The program is easy to follow as someone without a lot of experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have a problem with this program
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Caching and keeping the website up to date, as well as backing up previous versions.

Support I can count on.

  • August 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The support staff is fast, efficient, and knowledgable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Management. As a part of the culling two years ago it is hard to see so many still trying to find work and management trying to refill the roles with cheaper labor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The multidev model is extremely beneficial to our workflow needs.
