What do you like best about the product?

What I like most about IBM Cloudability is the visibility it provides into cloud costs and usage across accounts, services, and teams. It makes it easier to identify cost drivers, track spending trends, and connect cloud usage with business or team ownership. The dashboards and reporting are particularly useful for FinOps and management reviews, while the ability to analyze optimization opportunities helps us make more informed decisions about cloud resources and ROI.

What do you dislike about the product?

The main limitation is that Cloudability can take some time to configure and tailor to your organization, especially around cost allocation, tagging, and account structures. Some reports and dashboards can also require additional customization to match specific internal requirements. For teams managing complex or rapidly changing cloud environments, it would be helpful to have more straightforward configuration and more granular, real-time insights without relying heavily on customization.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

IBM Cloudability helps solve the challenge of understanding and managing cloud costs across multiple accounts, services, and teams. It provides better visibility into where our cloud spend is going, helps identify cost spikes and optimization opportunities, and makes it easier to allocate costs to the right teams or business areas. This benefits us by improving cost control, supporting more informed cloud infrastructure decisions, and making it easier to communicate cloud spending and optimization efforts to management.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like best about IBM Cloudability is that it gives me a clearer view of cloud spending. As a network administrator, that helps me connect infrastructure usage with costs and gives me useful information to discuss with other teams. I also appreciate being able to review the cost data in one place instead of piecing it together from different sources.

What do you dislike about the product?

One thing I’d like to improve is how easy it is for new users to find and understand the information they need. Some reports and settings can take time to learn, so a simpler interface and clearer guidance would make it easier to get started.

IBM Cloudability helps our team get a clearer view of cloud spending and understand where costs are coming from. As a network administrator, that context helps me discuss infrastructure usage with other teams and investigate changes in spending. It makes cost information easier to use when planning and managing our cloud environment.

The key problems it helps address are:

- Lack of cost visibility: It gives us a consolidated view of cloud spending across accounts, applications, teams, and business units.
- Difficulty identifying cost drivers: We can understand what is driving increases in cloud costs and where the biggest expenses are.
- Poor cost ownership: Cost allocation and chargeback/showback help identify which teams or applications are responsible for cloud consumption.
- Cloud waste: It helps identify opportunities such as unused or underutilized resources and potential optimization areas.
- Budget management: It helps track spending against budgets and identify cost anomalies or unexpected increases.
- Multi-cloud complexity: It provides a common view across different cloud providers instead of relying only on individual cloud-provider tools.

How this benefits me

For my role, the biggest benefit is better decision-making based on actual cloud consumption and cost data. It helps me have meaningful conversations with engineering, finance, and business teams about where money is being spent and where we can optimize.

Instead of simply asking, “Why is our cloud bill increasing?”, we can drill down into the application, team, or resource responsible and take targeted action.

Overall, Cloudability helps us move from cloud cost visibility → accountability → optimization, which can improve financial control while supporting efficient cloud usage.

Accurate Chargeback: Split shared bills fairly between different vendor groups

Recommendations for Kubernetes lack the depth needed for modern container setups

It automates cost allocation so expenses can be accurately matched to specific business units, projects, or products.

Most helpful feature is being able to consolidate costs and recommendations from the main cloud vendors, as well as implement our own business logic into the mappings.

Rightsizing recommendations - quality, accuracy and limited scope

I appreciate IBM Cloudability for bringing visibility and cost transparency to my cloud spend, which enables opportunities for optimization. I also like how it brings cloud spend to a business context, allowing me to tie the spend back to business investment and track benefits.

What do you dislike about the product?

I don't like the lack of feature parity for the GCP platform compared to AWS.

Covers maximum aspects of FinOps with in depth details

What do you dislike about the product?

Sometimes some features need additional development like where email notifications are there, the number of recipients and dimensions shouldn't have a limit. Also many parts donot have integration with service now yet

IBM Cloudability solves multi-cloud cost visibility, waste reduction, and resource allocation problems, benefiting users by lowering cloud expenses, improving financial accountability, and streamlining cross-functional decision-making.

What do you like best about the product?

Good self serviceability and amount of data within Cloudability

What do you dislike about the product?

Lack of GCP rightsizing, commitment and support.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Enables chargeback of cloud costs and allows users to investigate and look into their costs

What do you like best about the product?

The support from my onboarding consultants and CSMs is second to none. The product is intuitive and backed by plenty of easily accessible doco.

What do you dislike about the product?

Turbonomic is brilliant, but without out-of-the-box integration with Slack, Teams, and Snow, it just isn’t as seamless as it could be. The same goes for Jira—adding these integrations would be a massive improvement.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It’s helped us identify savings and cost efficiencies we simply didn’t realise we had.
