Effective for Cloud Cost Optimization, Minor Hurdles

    Reviewed on Apr 27, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like the clear and detailed cost visibility that IBM Cloudability provides, making it easy to understand spending across cloud platforms. Its ability to quickly identify cost-saving opportunities, like idle resources, is very effective. I also appreciate the user-friendly dashboard and reports that aid in better decision-making. Budget tracking and forecasting simplify financial planning significantly. Additionally, Cloudability provides useful insights that help improve cost efficiency and brings better financial control over cloud infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some reports can feel complex initially and require time to fully understand. Real-time cost updates are slightly delayed, which impacts immediate decision-making. Customization of dashboard and reports could be more flexible. Integration and setup for multiple cloud platforms like Azure can be a bit time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Cloudability to monitor and optimize cloud spending on AWS and Azure. It provides visibility in cost distribution, helping to identify cost-saving opportunities and unused resources. It simplifies multi-cloud cost management and improves financial control with centralized reports and user-friendly dashboards.

Powerhouse in Finance with Some Growing Pains

    Reviewed on Apr 21, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I think the Kubernetes visibility is one of the strongest systems we can get out of this. It's great because in the cloud, the Kubernetes acts like a black box, and the IBM Cloudability Kubernetes visibility feature cracks open that box. It shows exactly which application or team is spending money by using a lightweight agent installed on our clusters. What I like is that it combines utilization data and billing data to give real-time metrics on CPU and RAM consumption, along with the actual dollar cost of underlying virtual machines. This makes cost allocation and identifying idle or used capacity really clear. Also, it was very easy and handy to set up.
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM Cloudability is not perfect. It has some areas that could be improved to keep up with more agile competitors like CloudZero and Vantage. One issue is the 'action gap' since it's often read-only. It gives rightsizing recommendations, but you usually have to manually make changes in the AWS console. Its interface can feel a bit old school, especially in comparison to the advancements in Gen AI. Also, while it tracks historical spend well, its future forecasting accuracy, especially with discounts, can be skewed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Cloudability for tracking AWS cloud spending and preventing high bills. It integrates multiple clouds like AWS and Azure, provides near real-time updates, and maps Kubernetes usage to costs, improving cost visibility and management.

Granular Visibility and Ease of Use, But Setup Can Improve

    Reviewed on Apr 20, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like the level of granular visibility IBM Cloudability provides into cloud costs. It's quite easy to use, and we can do reporting very easily. I appreciate how instead of looking at a single total bill, we can drill down into costs by team, environment, service, or even specific resources. It's also helpful that we can generate clear, structured reports without much manual effort and share them with respective stakeholders. Together, these features save time, cost, and improve transparency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it becomes complex, especially when we need deeper analysis and advanced reporting. Another challenge we faced during the initial setup and configuration that could be improved. We faced some issues while initial setup, mainly tagging strategy and cost allocation rules took some time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM Cloudability to solve visibility and cost control issues, enabling us to track costs by team and service, identify unused resources, and reduce unnecessary expenses.

What do you dislike about the product?
    Data quality dependency
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Cloudability helps solve complex cloud financial management issues with automated anomaly detection and robust forecasting, shifting from reactive billing shock to a proactive, data-driven strategy.

Strong Multi-Cloud Cost Visibility and FinOps Control with IBM Cloudability

    Reviewed on Mar 25, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about IBM Cloudability is the level of visibility and control it provides across multi-cloud environments. It enables clear cost allocation, accurate showback/chargeback, and helps identify optimization opportunities such as rightsizing and eliminating underutilized resources. The insights are actionable and support better financial governance aligned with FinOps practices.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area for improvement in IBM Cloudability is that it works best when there is a well-defined tagging and governance model in place, which can take some time to mature. Additionally, new users may need a bit of time to fully explore all features and reports. However, once properly configured, the platform provides strong value and insights.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IBM Cloudability helps solve the lack of visibility and control over cloud costs in multi-cloud environments. It enables us to understand where spending is happening, allocate costs accurately across teams, and identify optimization opportunities such as rightsizing and eliminating unused resources. This results in better cost governance, improved budgeting, and more efficient use of cloud resources, supporting our overall FinOps strategy.
