Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform
Top-Notch Security and Effortless Onboarding with Teleport
Unified Secure Access and Auditing in a single Consistent Workflow
Uplink operations have become more secure and monitoring now detects and resolves channel errors
What is our primary use case?
Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform is used to uplink multiple channels from this platform, monitoring the channels by receiving them from the IP, IPR, IP link, P2P link, and then decoding in a convert SDI and connecting with our chain to take an output of decoders.
Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform can uplink the channel, and we have a license from the government to uplink the first channels, which should be uplifting from the authorized teleport to ensure this channel is on air, otherwise, it will be illegal. For security purposes, we scramble the service so that an unauthorized person cannot see the content.
Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform is deployed on this basic satellite, uplinking on satellite so that every DTH can receive the signal, content, and service.
What is most valuable?
I am enjoying working with Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform and trusting this infrastructure. I have been using these devices for a long time, which allows us to find errors easily. We frequently use the Harmonic chain on NMX, which shows alarms for all the devices related to scrambling issues, closing issues, and any problems, such as not receiving proper packets from TS, which we can see as an error on TS with the help of Dec-Tec. On Dec-Tec, we can see the error on a particular service and particular PIDs, enabling us to work on it efficiently, as the tactic shows where the issue lies so that we can resolve it quickly.
I am working with advanced devices; in some places, we have taken monitoring on every point, recovering the whole issue so that we can identify where the issue is on a service level, on a modulator level, in RF compression, and scrambling. We have already separated all monitoring levels and taken compression output and RF monitoring to identify where the issue is, allowing us to resolve matters and improve anything. If we are using any chain with NMX, we should have an alarm system to control issues quickly, identifying problems while monitoring at every point.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform for 14 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform's scalability can handle more channels or workload if needed.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I did not use a different solution before Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform, as a technical person, I believe we should take the necessary permissions from the government for upping the transmission; otherwise, we cannot transmit the services.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did not purchase Teleport Infrastructure Identity Platform through a marketplace like AWS Marketplace; it was a direct purchase.
Very easy and secure access
Its nice and easy to use (some features)
Powerful Access Management with a Bit of Complexity
Complete bait-and-switch vendor lock-in
Anyone self-hosting CE Teleport now just got completely screwed over as they have been locked into a surprise ~$70/seat bill for enterprise edition (plus implementation fee, even though you're already hosting it and just need a license key now)! Or, you could rebuild your entire network identiy management system on short notice instead!
This is a huge middle finger to anyone who adopted their solution early on and helped build their ecosystem. There's clearly immense revenue pressure at Gravitational right now and I would absolutely expect to be continuouly screwed over by them in any business relationship after this move.
I would recommend teleport to anyone struggling to maintain authentication and app exposure issues.
- Upgrade process is smooth
- Provides useful audit information
- Greate UI for visualizing infrastructure
Teleport allowed us to keep things simply, workable and traceable.
The very good SSO implementation (with roles mapping) was a decisive winner. It allow us to have team roles schema on our IDP and that was a highly sucessful and transformational change in our organization.
Our development and operations teams now have access to all they need and offboarding/onboardings within the teams are straightforward.
In addition, because roles can by highly configured, it allow us to have very good and proper security adequate resource access.
Also, some UI changes, were not liked by our guys.
- Tecnhically: provide a unique way to access different types of resources. That was solved by Teleport by providing exactly what we were looking for.
- Security: provide a secure way that uses the team role based access that my organization is using
- Tracebility: have logs of what the users executed (specially the logins at the resources)
An amazing piece of kit
Less complexity with server management.
