Fast, reliable, and surprisingly Smart Research Assistant
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Perplexity is its speed and precision in retrieving information. It combines the power of an AI language model with real-time web search, which means I get up-to-date, sourced answers almost instantly. It’s great for quick research, fact-checking, and exploring topics without getting lost in dozens of browser tabs. I also appreciate the clean, distraction-free interface and how it cites its sources transparently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the depth of answers can feel a bit limited compared to GPT-4 or specialized tools, especially for more complex or nuanced topics. Also, while it’s excellent for research, it’s less helpful for creative writing or brainstorming. Still, for what it’s designed to do, it performs extremely well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem of information overload and the time wasted scrolling through search results. With Perplexity, I can get concise, relevant, and referenced summaries in seconds. This helps me make informed decisions faster and improves the accuracy of my work, especially when I need to double-check facts or gather quick insights on unfamiliar topics.
Great Research Tool with Transparent Sources, But Response Speed Can Lag
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Perplexity helps me choose the best AI model for my needs and clearly shows the sources and steps behind its answers. It provides additional useful information from the internet, making it a great tool for quick research and decision-making with sourced facts. Ease of integration with Automation tools is also convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the responses take too long to generate, and occasionally the answer quality is inconsistent or not as accurate as expected. While this doesn’t happen all the time, it’s noticeable enough to be a drawback.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Perplexity solves the problem of fragmented search and unclear AI results by offering a transparent, source-backed conversational research assistant. It speeds up information gathering by providing concise answers with citations, helping me quickly find accurate insights while saving time on manual research and verifying sources.
Great Features Like Spaces, But Context Loss Can Be Frustrating
What do you like best about the product?
The addition of spaces and incognito mode, along with support for agents, is now available.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the context from earlier in the same chat seems to be lost.

Answering and reviewing my research data to enhance my work speed and efficiency
Excellent for Research, But Watch for Occasional Hallucinations
What do you like best about the product?
Very useful tool for deep research and getting all the sources right. Easy to use and probably top-2 of the go-to-AI tools. Use it weekly. We have to make in depth investment researches, find competitors and thus it has proven quite helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a little bit more hallucinations than GPT-5 i'd say and given you want it for resarch mainly, I guess it is not as great in that sense. You want bullet proof statements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Doing deep research on a topic or thematic, finding competitors etc. Plus comet is just changing the way I search the web
Reliable Source References, But macOS App Still Needs Speed Improvements
What do you like best about the product?
As the AI is slowly phasing out the classic search engines and generating nebulous references, I greatly appreciate Perplexity's ability to provide valid source references.
What do you dislike about the product?
The macOS app used to be very slow and sluggish on a powerful processors (e.g., M2 Pro), but that somewhat improved recently. Still not a speed demon, though.

Quickly compare things with valid references and get answers to various questions.

It gives short, to-the-point answers with sources, so it’s easy to verify information. It also helps when we need quick overviews about new technologies or market updates without reading long articles.

Sometimes it gives answers that feel too short or miss important context. It’s great for speed, but not always deep enough for complex topics. I’ve also noticed that it repeats similar answers if I ask in different ways.

It saves a lot of time for our team. Instead of searching through multiple sites, we can get a clear answer or summary in seconds. We use it to prepare internal notes, understand competitor updates, and summarise articles. It’s especially helpful for team members who need quick information without spending hours reading online.

I appreciate Perplexity's responsiveness and the voice-to-voice feature, which makes it more user-friendly. The setup was incredibly easy, just signing in with Google, and I enjoy that I don't have to write prompts to get help. It saves me significant time on my SAP-related work, reducing hours of problem-solving to mere minutes by uploading screenshots of code errors for step-by-step guidance.

I find the integration with other software lacking, as Perplexity is not integrated with SAP HANA, which affects my ability to seamlessly work across different platforms.

I find the lack of support for the Sanskrit language problematic. While I use Sanskrit, Perplexity does not support it efficiently, which hampers my ability to get insights and meanings in this language.
