What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Cisco Duo is its strong security, easy-to-use interface, and seamless multi-factor authentication (MFA). It provides a quick and secure login experience, helps prevent unauthorized access, and makes it easy to verify user identities without disrupting daily work.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Cisco Duo is that repeated authentication requests can sometimes interrupt workflow. Occasionally, login issues, delayed push notifications, or device connectivity problems can make the authentication process inconvenient. Improving notification speed and simplifying device management would make the overall experience even better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cisco Duo helps solve security risks associated with unauthorized access, stolen passwords, and compromised user accounts by providing multi-factor authentication (MFA). It adds an extra layer of protection to company applications and systems. This benefits me by making logins more secure, reducing the risk of phishing-related account breaches, and allowing me to access work resources confidently while maintaining a smooth login experience.

What do you like best about the product?
Very simple easy to use app that has all necessary information on the homepage. Easy to add new accounts, remove old ones, and view existing information such as passkeys and temporary codes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There could be more provided information for each account, such as an accounts informational page to click into. Here it might be good to see information such as date added, account name and linked app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cisco Duo allows users to securely sign into apps and websites that require multifactor authentication. This benefits me by allowing me to get into these services securely.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to use. In this day and age, cyber security is not only important but necessary. This program offers security but in an easy and simple way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love that I have to use more than one device to use this program. Sometimes my phone is in another room and I have to get that to see my code so I wish it could be streamlined.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides a way to keep devices more secure and safe. Scammers and cyber attacks are more and more common so think provides one level of safety for the team.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy Cisco Duo is to use, especially the quick authentication process. It makes accessing systems securely straightforward without adding extra hassle.

It generally works well, but having to approve multiple authentication requests throughout the day can become repetitive. The main downside is having to authenticate regularly.

What do you like best about the product?
There's one thing that really makes Cisco Duo stand out for us: its focus on deep content security, its phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA), and its use of solutions such as WebAuthn and FIDO2 security keys. It's also been integrated with our Adaptive Access Policies, which check users, devices, and context to help apply policies in a granular manner throughout our infrastructure. We needed to be able to build custom reports, and luckily the Auth and Admin APIs provided this. It's not as simple as MFA anymore.
What do you dislike about the product?
It might take a bit of time to get used to, but the number of unauthorized access attempts and the risk of data breaches that are stopped by Cisco Duo make it a good security investment. It does exactly what it says it will.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
From our own measurements, we can see a clear improvement in how things are running. Using Cisco Duo was able to save a lot of hours a year by making authentication easier and more efficient for their employees. This is a great way to get more done. The Microsoft Authenticator works better with the other Microsoft programs you've already got. To be honest, Cisco Duo isn't cheap. But it's still really useful, I'll say that. It's great that Real reduces our risk of a data breach across the board, especially as it comes with some pretty powerful security features, like phishing-resistant MFA and adaptive access.

What is our primary use case?
We are a retail organization, not a service provider or integrator, with over 50 branches where we have implemented all Cisco products. I work with Cisco Duo as a customer. We mainly use Cisco Duo for MFA related to VPN, and we also have single sign-on and SAML-based authentication in our organization. We are not using the passwordless environment proposed by Cisco Duo.
What is most valuable?
From my four years of experience, the best part about Cisco Duo is that it is easy to use and relatively very straightforward, with multiple options available.
The best features I would highlight in Cisco Duo include the SAML-based authentication, which works well with all of the organization's applications. When it comes to security authentication, I find it is relatively easy when logging in.
We use the Advanced Identity Threat Detection feature in Cisco Duo, and it is also good because we have integration with the firewall which alerts us whenever there is any threat. With Cisco Duo's threat management capabilities, it shows the risk for a user.
For example, if I am the user accessing certain websites and if the traffic goes through the firewall integrated with Cisco Duo, it flags my user for any suspicious activity.
The conversational AI interface in Cisco Duo is relatively good, and we can utilize the integrated Copilot feature for any kind of documentation.
We have been exploring Cisco Duo Directory; although we have not used it extensively, we did the POC and it worked well. Cisco Identity Intelligence is a good feature that helps detect and respond to identity-based risks effectively because it integrates with Threat Intelligence.
I believe the integrations offered by Cisco Duo are good enough to satisfy our organization's requirements.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Cisco Duo for the last four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Cisco Duo is 99% stable and reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Cisco Duo is scalable with no limitations.
How are customer service and support?
Regarding technical support from Cisco for Cisco Duo, I feel it could be better. We often need to reach out to the Cisco Duo team through support cases, which are not integrated with Cisco TAC. If I had to rate Cisco Duo's support, I would give it a seven.
How was the initial setup?
Regarding deployment, Cisco Duo is relatively very simple, which I consider a good point.
What was our ROI?
Despite the price being quite high, I would rate Cisco Duo's value for money as seven out of ten. I rate it a seven because technically, the features are okay and very useful, but the price for the licenses is quite high. I see savings in terms of time and money with Cisco Duo. I would say that Cisco Duo saves us about 30% in time and money.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding price, I think it can be reduced; it is a challenge because our organization has informed us that we have the E3 license from Microsoft that includes MFA features, making it hard to justify paying for Cisco Duo.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have evaluated some similar products to Cisco Duo; for example, I have the Microsoft E3 license, which provides Microsoft Authenticator. The biggest difference for me between Cisco Duo and Microsoft is that Cisco Duo benefits from much better integration with our environment rather than just being an MFA feature, as it offers advanced intelligence and threat features.
What other advice do I have?
Regarding Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, I started working on it about two to three years back for some project related to Viptela. Currently, we do not have Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN in our organization.
We have several Cisco products in our organization, including Cisco ISE, Cisco Duo, Cisco FTD, and Cisco routers and switches. Overall, I would rate Cisco Duo nine out of ten.

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is simple and easy to navigate, seamless integration to other applications, performance is always excellent and support is always available, good value for the price and intelligent to navigate
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren’t any features I currently dislike, since everything is helpful and works as expected. When I use the application, I’m able to do everything I need to get done.

It helps with a very important security feature by providing multi factor authentication for devices and ensures user accounts have an extra layer of security

What do you like best about the product?
It really helps in workplace security especially for work from home employees. I also like that it's very user friendly and can support integration with other work related applications.

Troubleshooting can be frustrating because some log in features requires assistance from our company's IT department and these can be time consuming in some cases.

Cisco Duo definitely helps solve the problem of unauthorized access to our company's system. Before using Cisco Duo, our only security was using passwords but now we don't have to worry if our password gets compromised.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can quickly approve a login from my phone without having to enter a code every time. The notifications are nice and convenient, and the app doesn't take much effort to set up and once it is it is very easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little frustrating when notifications are delayed or you don't have your phone nearby, if I am needing quick or fast access it is not always reliable for that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving a 2 factor authentication problem. It is easy to use and a simple set up for me and anyone to use in the company. It integrates with other apps for 2 step authentication too so its nice to use across the board

The higher-cost tiers can be necessary if you need advanced adaptive access or risk-based policies. Also, the reporting and analytics feel a bit thin out of the box, and it requires internet connectivity.
