What do you like best about the product?

For me, the useful part is seeing the movement behind the day-to-day operation. It makes conversations about production and stock handling more concrete, rather than everyone having a slightly different idea of where time or movement is being lost.

What do you dislike about the product?

It takes a little patience at the beginning. We had to go back over part of our setup because the first version didn't represent the way we actually handled some products.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have several things happening at once, from receiving ingredients and preparing food to getting finished products onto the shop floor. Tecnomatix has helped us think through where materials and products are moving unnecessarily and where a change in the workflow could make a difference, particularly when activity increases.

What do you like best about the product?

What I like most is being able to look at production scenarios before making changes on the shop floor. For a production-planning role, having a clearer view of workflow, capacity, and possible bottlenecks makes discussions around process changes much easier.

What do you dislike about the product?

The main drawback has been getting the initial model to accurately reflect the real production process. We had to go back and adjust one section because the first version didn't quite match how that part of the operation worked. It wasn't a major issue, but it did add some extra back-and-forth.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest benefit is having a more structured way to assess production changes and think through their potential impact before committing resources. It has made production planning more visual and helped us look at process optimisation from a practical manufacturing perspective.

For me, the useful part is being able to look at the production side in more detail without having to rely entirely on assumptions. It gives the team a clearer basis for discussing where adjustments may be needed.

It can feel like a lot to take in initially. We had a couple of sessions where we went back over the same workflow because we weren't using it quite the way we intended at first.

As our product range and order volumes have grown, keeping production activities coordinated has become more difficult. Tecnomatix gives us another way to look at how production capacity and different activities fit together, which helps when we're planning around busier periods or changes in demand.

The ability to represent manufacturing operations in a way that engineers can actually work with is what I find most useful. It gives us another level of detail when reviewing how a process should work, particularly when there are several operations or resources to consider.

Some of the functionality takes time to learn properly. I found that certain tasks required a bit of experimentation before I had the workflow figured out, rather than everything being immediately obvious.

What I’ve found most useful is being able to examine the production flow in more detail and identify areas that may create bottlenecks or affect utilisation. It has also made it easier to discuss potential changes with the wider engineering and production teams.

It hasn’t been completely frictionless. Some of the modelling and setup took time to get right, and there were occasions where we had to revisit a section after clarifying what we wanted to achieve. Overall, though, the ongoing work has given us a more structured way of looking at production planning and optimisation.

Working in production planning means having a clear view of how different parts of the manufacturing process fit together, especially when changes can affect capacity and overall flow. We’ve been using Tecnomatix as part of that process to look at production scenarios and understand where improvements could be made before making changes on the shop floor.

I like that it helps connect the creative side of product development with what actually needs to happen during manufacturing. For a fashion business, that connection is important because a design may look straightforward on paper but require quite a different production approach.

There is a learning curve, particularly if your background is more focused on design and product development than manufacturing systems. It took some time to understand how to get the most useful information from the platform.

As our collections have grown, one of the harder parts has been keeping the transition from design ideas into production organized. Tecnomatix gives us a better way to think through manufacturing processes before they become problems further down the line. That has been useful when we're working with different materials, styles, and production requirements at the same time. We still have moments where a process needs to be revisited, especially when a product doesn't behave exactly as expected in production, but having a structured planning approach makes those adjustments easier.

The onboarding and support matter here as well; having some guidance at the beginning makes the learning curve much easier to manage.

It isn't particularly lightweight. The interface can feel dense when you're new to it, and getting the environment configured correctly requires some patience. There is also a meaningful cost consideration, so I'd want a clear use case and expected return before recommending it to a smaller technical team. The platform can produce useful intelligence, but the quality of the result still depends on the data and configuration going into it.

The simulation performance is useful when there are multiple variables to consider, while the analysis provides more intelligence than we would get from looking at isolated data points. Where the relevant systems and data can be connected, it also helps reduce some of the manual work involved in preparing information for analysis.

What do you like best about the product?

The project is still ongoing, and I’m still figuring out which parts of the platform will have the most value for our particular workflow. It isn’t something we adopted and understood overnight there has been some experimenting along the way, especially around getting the digital representation to reflect what we actually need.

What do you dislike about the product?

What I appreciate most is the opportunity to connect digital modelling with the way we already think about innovation and sustainability. For a small, creative business, that kind of visibility can make technical decisions easier to discuss with the wider team. We’re still developing the setup, but it has given us a useful foundation to build on.

For us, the interesting part of Tecnomatix has been looking at digital twin creation from a more practical, real-world perspective. We work in a very design-led environment, so being able to represent processes digitally gives us another way to test ideas and think through changes before they become physical ones.
