Centralized Shipment Visibility and Transparent KPI Analysis with Portcast

  • March 31, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The main value of Portcast lies in enabling all locations to upload and manage their shipments in one standardized system, regardless of which service provider is used locally. This ensures that all users have continuous access to the latest shipment status at any time.

As a result, coordination efforts are significantly reduced, as follow-ups from Order Management, customers, procurement, logistics, and other stakeholders can be minimized.

Another key benefit is the increased transparency across the entire supply chain. Delays can be clearly identified and better understood, especially when they are caused by carrier decisions. At the same time, it becomes visible how actual transit times deviate from originally confirmed schedules provided by carriers or forwarders.

Furthermore, the centralized data foundation enables transparent and data-driven analysis within KPI dashboards. This supports us in evaluating transit times systematically and continuously improving performance based on real data.

Portcast also provides significant value in discussions with service providers. The available data creates an objective basis for feedback on the carriers they utilize and allows well-informed decisions, including the potential exclusion of underperforming carriers based on reliable performance data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, the Sailing Schedule function is not working as intended. Especially in the current situation, where carriers are adjusting their schedules on a daily basis due to the Middle East developments, having a reliable and fast overview within the tool would be extremely valuable. This topic has already been addressed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, whenever we needed to check the status of our shipments, we had to work our way through the various tools and shipment lists provided by our service providers. This was not only time-consuming but also often lacked transparency. In many cases, it was additionally necessary to send follow-up emails to obtain reliable information. There was no central and transparent overview of all ongoing shipments.

With the current solution, we now have the ability to view all shipments at a glance. This not only saves time but also significantly improves transparency and responsiveness in our daily operations.

Another major limitation in the past was that we were unable to perform analyses on a carrier level. Neither performance nor actual transit times could be properly evaluated by carrier. This was particularly challenging for LCL shipments, as they are often handled by co-loaders, making the actual carriers only partially visible.

We now have a much higher level of transparency in this area as well. It is now possible to clearly identify which carriers are being used on specific trade lanes and how they are performing. For the first time, this enables us to make data-driven decisions and to optimize our transport strategies in a targeted manner.

Essential for Real-Time Container Tracking

  • March 24, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Portcast's flexibility in adapting to our requests and their commitment to providing alternative options that may offer even better solutions. I also value the personal communication with the team; they are friendly, supportive, consistently available, and receptive to feedback. Their openness and willingness to adjust to our requirements make collaboration smooth and help accelerate the setup procedd.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I were to highlight an opportunity for improvement, it would be the need for closer collaboration in developing stronger business cases. This is a shared responsibility on both sides. Their solutions are high quality, but they can also be relatively costly. Without clearly defined and measurable benefits, it becomes challenging to justify those higher expenses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Portcast provides real-time tracking of our sea containers, offers a Command Center with early risks alerts and speeds up invoice validation trough another tool we developed together.

I really like Portcast's very user-friendly UI and how it allows us and our customers to easily check container locations using maps and event charts. Portcast covers many carriers, which is a big plus. The initial setup is very easy, just requiring ID and password registration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Rail movement in the US is not shown. So please add tracking of US rail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Portcast saves us from checking every carrier's website, reducing wait time for our customers by providing easy container tracking through a user-friendly map and event chart.

Empowers Supply Chain Visibility, Stellar Support

  • February 26, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Portcast offers incredible customer service, always being extremely responsive when we have queries. Their eagerness to enhance the product through collaboration and listening to our needs is impressive. The initial setup was extremely simple, thanks to their well-documented API and connection specifications, and the testing process from start to finish was very rapid, pleasant experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the reliability of the data isn't there, but I don't think that's a reflection on Portcast, more so a reflection on the lack of quality and timliness of information the Shipping Lines currently provide the industry, not just Portcast.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Portcast provides efficiency gains with automated data that enhances supply chain visibility for our clients, giving them ability to take actions based on educated assumptions.
