I love how fast OutSystems can develop and their customization is also top notch
What do you like best about the product?
The Data Fabric is what finally won me over - as opposed to having to migrate data out of your CRM or other API’s or Legacy Databases, you simply create a virtualized representation of all of the data types you want to work with and then use SQL to query it as if the data were already merged together - sounds too good to be true but it generally works. Development Speed - Yes It Is Real - The amount of boilerplate code and compile times have been removed and you simply login and begin developing and something functional appears quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI Components are the weak link and it is really a major issue if your company has strict Brand Guidelines - you can create something functional quickly, but creating it to look “exactly” like the application you would have created using a real Web Framework is really painful and takes a lot of time. Petty One - In Expression Rules, the Input Parameter Boxes Are Tiny And You Can’t Resize Them Which Is Just Annoying Daily Inconvenience For Developers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We basically had Processes Living In Excel Spreadsheets and Email Chains and Someone’s Head And None Of It Was Tracked Or Audited Or Scalable. OutSystems Replaces That With Actual Applications That Manage The Workflow Enforce The Rules And Keep A Proper Record Of Everything Without Needing A Full Engineering Team To Build And Maintain It. The Time From “We Need This Process Fixed” To “It’s Running In Production” Is Genuinely Shorter Than Traditional Development And That Is The Core Thing It Delivers.

Reducing Complexity in Full-Stack Development Through OutSystems
What do you like best about the product?
What I value most about OutSystems is its model-driven architecture, which accelerates full-stack development while still enforcing strong structure, scalability, and maintainability.
OutSystems stands out to me because it abstracts repetitive coding through visual models while still allowing deep technical control over integrations, performance, and architecture.
OutSystems stands out to me because it abstracts repetitive coding through visual models while still allowing deep technical control over integrations, performance, and architecture.
What do you dislike about the product?
One limitation of OutSystems is that highly complex customizations can sometimes require workarounds outside the platform’s visual abstractions.
While OutSystems is very productive, performance tuning and deep debugging can be less transparent compared to traditional code-first environments.
While OutSystems is very productive, performance tuning and deep debugging can be less transparent compared to traditional code-first environments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OutSystems addresses the complexity and slow delivery of traditional enterprise development by offering a model-driven, full-stack platform with built-in architecture and lifecycle management. This benefits me by letting me deliver solutions faster while focusing on design, performance, and business logic instead of repetitive technical setup.
Fast, Reliable, and Effortlessly Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, speed, delivery, reliability, and trust are the main reasons I value this product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing as such to dislike in this product
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helping our customers to deliver things and bringing value to there day to day activities
OutSystems will save your team time, but their pricing model has left me feeling worried
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly I love that I can stop writing boilerplate code all day. Dragging and dropping my logic is so much quicker than typing it in and at least for now I'm tired as hell. The automation features also make it easy to get rid of those boring manual data entry tasks and I'm happy with how active the community is as I have relied on the forum when the documentation does not make sense.
What do you dislike about the product?
Making the UI feel custom is really difficult. It feels outdated compared to other modern web frameworks and our marketers always complain that it doesn't exactly match the brand image. The licensing cost is pretty high for what it does and also I find that debugging can be frustrating when the error message is vague.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly automating the boring back office stuff and we use it to integrate multiple databases without moving all of the data which would be a huge headache. To eliminate the spreadsheets that everyone keeps sending each other via email. It allows us to build internal tools quickly.

Old software that functions as needed with my mess
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly I've been using this since the screen was orange on a Mac Plus back in 1979 or something. The flexibility of the software has allowed me to be able to add fields to a live database (without kicking users off) and I thought that would crash everything. Instead I could create an entire ERP system without a team of developers and I assume it won't disappear tomorrow since it's supported by Apple.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems like they change their licensing model each year and I find it annoying to keep up with. In addition to everything mentioned before I also do not understand why there is no Android app available and I also find it difficult to make responsive designs in order to work on the web and I feel like the way it works is very clumsy and my back also hurts. Furthermore, the anonymous submission form we have has some issues as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We previously were dealing with "excel hell" (as you probably know). This has allowed me to automate many of the things we used to do manually with invoicing and shipping labels, etc and prior to this, we wasted a tremendous amount of time performing repetitive tasks. Now, I am able to develop a new feature and test it in real-time while all other users continue to perform their work and then determine whether or not what I developed will work.
Effortless Implementation with Powerful Built-In Features
What do you like best about the product?
OutSystems simplifies implementation by providing numerous built-in features that can be seamlessly configured and reused with minimal effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI state management is lacking, as there isn't a global state store available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visual development accelerates both UI creation and logic implementation. The built-in scaffolding feature also helps minimize the time spent on repetitive coding tasks.

Streamlined App Development with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I commonly use OutSystems for rapid application development. I like its feature of being one platform for multiple channels and its scalability. The platform handles load balancing, caching, and performance patterns easily. It has built-in monitoring and performance insights. The initial setup is very easy, thanks to its cloud-based nature, which is almost plug-and-play.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there could be a possible improvement in having more flexible UI theming for modern front-end UI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use OutSystems for rapid application development, solving slow delivery and high maintenance. It streamlines processes with one platform for multiple channels, handles load balancing and caching, and offers built-in performance insights.
