Job scheduling has improved automation and accuracy but rerunning only failed jobs still needs work
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for BMC Helix is a workflow that I use in SAP for a job scheduler. In my SAP environment, I schedule jobs for performing various tasks. These jobs may be scheduled daily, monthly, or quarterly using BMC Helix. The workflow functionality is how I primarily use BMC Helix, and I find that the workflow is effective.
How has it helped my organization?
BMC Helix has positively impacted my organization mainly by minimizing manual effort through automation, and AI is also coming into the picture. The impact of BMC Helix includes three main aspects in my job: it is improving productivity, errors are reduced, and manual effort is decreased.
What is most valuable?
BMC Helix offers a good job scheduler, and I have not worked with other comparable tools. The interface is good, and I have been using it for a long time.
The reporting in BMC Helix is good compared to other tools I have known in the industry.
Regarding BMC Helix's AI capabilities, I find that governance and security are comparatively good based on my experience. I find the accuracy and reliability of the output to be good comparatively, and I have not seen many errors or much mismatch in the data.
What needs improvement?
I rated BMC Helix a seven out of ten because there is room for improvement. I have found some errors while doing the retest. BMC Helix needs improvement when I rerun any job for failure. When I rerun a job, I want to be able to rerun only the failed jobs, not all jobs.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using BMC Helix for six years.
What other advice do I have?
On a scale of one to ten, I would rate BMC Helix a seven.
