All-in-One PCB Design with Smooth Team Collaboration

    Reviewed on Jun 13, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Altium is that it includes all the components and parts needed for PCB design. The whole team can work in one place, review each other’s work, and leave remarks on it, which makes collaboration much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
For small companies and projects it is very costly to buy the license and use it. But limiteed integrations feels like a boundation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using Altium, we’re able to ship projects faster because everything is in one place. That’s been really helpful for our team collaboration, and it’s convenient that the components are available directly within the tool to use.

Strong Features and Easy BOM Linking with Octopart

    Reviewed on Jun 12, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Strong features to accomplish job. Octopart is a great feature that allows me to get some components with ease and use them, along with auto linking BOM information to ensure the part is stocked and current.
What do you dislike about the product?
The being tied into a cloud only based library that prevents adding footprints or others who are using enterprise or pro versions of the tool from having me hand off the design and do layout where I did schematic design is a major frustration. Component selection and maintinance is a nightmare where each source of component schematics and footprint have include part numbers and manufacturers in an inconsistent way with no mature/maintained/valid working scripting interface that AI can even figure out how to get to work to maintain those inconsestencies is a major issue. When sourcing design elements from other designs if they where not generated with the cloud based library mine seems to be locked into, the components are orphaned. Missing key functions to validate component values for resistors/capacitors/inductors against part number and rules like smt only shown aged and non-modern capabilities. System is always loosing connection to server, lags out, is extremely show for many operations. Things that should take 1-2 minutes end up taking hours. Always fighting with network lag issues, crashes, and failed operations due to network issues. No other tool on my network has these problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need a tool to design schematics and have consultants help with layout. I can design the schematics. Handoff to the consultants is problematic due to the way libraries are managed. Further, unless they come into my system and use my licences instead of their own setups, the transition of designs back and forth leaves something to be desired. Overally, I am able to get the schematics designed and hand them off, but it is not efficent.

Best Tool for Real-Time PCB Model Collaboration

    Reviewed on Jun 09, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
This is the best tool for developing PCB models and reviewing them directly with the team, without wasting time on revisions. All team members can see the progress in real time on the platform, all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest drawback is the plan and licensing pricing, which feels too high for smaller projects. Also, the integrations are very hard to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All PCB components are available in one place, which helps us develop faster and finalize projects in less time, with fewer errors.

Incredible ECAD with a Powerful Altium365 Ecosystem

What do you like best about the product?
Aside from being an incredible ECAD software, I really appreciate the Altium365 ecosystem for project management, part library management, and project sharing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it ran natively on MacOS! It works fine through Parallels, but it would be wonderful to have it running with the speed and efficiency of a native M-series processor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The complexities of high-speed multi-layer designs, and complex mechanical integrations

All-in-One PCB Design Platform That Streamlines Our Workflow

    Reviewed on Jun 02, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It offers schematic capture, PCB layout, component management, and design validation all in one platform. It has really helped us streamline our process and keep everything in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very hard to use in the beginning, because there is a very complex setup to learn. Licensing is also very costly for smaller teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the challenges of managing PCB workflows by providing a unified platform for design, validation, and collaboration. It also helps us reduce errors.

Highly Functional with Room for Stability Improvements

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Altium Develop makes circuit boards. I also appreciate the eCAD integrations, as they make it easier to do cross-team development with 3D models. The initial setup of Altium Develop was easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the crashing, specifically in ActiveBOM and in the Explorer, to be problematic. It would be better if it could limit and cache queries to Database Libraries instead of querying on every navigation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Altium Develop for circuit board creation. The eCAD integrations make cross-team development with 3D models easier.

Great for Complex Layouts, Buggy Seat Management

    Reviewed on May 29, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I find that the routing and design rules in Altium Develop work great, making it easier for me to do schematic work. Although the library was a bit annoying to use at first, after setting it up with a lot of components, it works really well in our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, the biggest problem is the seats. They're super buggy and require me to manually kick people off sometimes even if their computer is off or their Altium is closed. The seat management is a pretty big issue within the team and the only one that seems to be able to kick them off is the super admin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium Develop simplifies schematic work with great routing and design rules. Initial library setup was tricky but now fits well into our workflow. However, seat management is a major issue, requiring manual intervention to manage access.
