Reliable Alerting and Clear Incident Escalations That Keep Teams Responsive
Reviewed on Oct 03, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about PagerDuty is how effectively it helps teams stay on top of incidents and respond quickly when something requires attention. The alerting and notification system is reliable, and the ability to clearly organize incidents, priorities, and escalations makes it much easier to manage issues without losing track of important events.
I also appreciate the overall user experience. The platform provides good visibility into incidents and helps teams collaborate during critical situations, which can significantly reduce response time and improve operational efficiency.

What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could be improved is the learning curve for new users. PagerDuty offers a lot of features and configuration options, but it can take some time to understand the different settings, escalation policies, and workflows. The interface can also feel a little overwhelming initially, especially for users who are new to incident management platforms.
A more intuitive setup experience and clearer guidance for first-time users would make the platform easier to adopt.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PagerDuty helps solve the challenge of managing critical incidents and ensuring that the right people are notified at the right time. It provides a centralized way to receive, prioritize, and track alerts, while escalation workflows help ensure that incidents don’t get overlooked.
For me, this improves visibility and response time during critical situations. It also reduces the need to manually monitor multiple sources for alerts and makes it easier for teams to collaborate, stay accountable, and resolve issues efficiently.

What do you like best about the product?
I like PagerDuty's ability to provide real-time incident alerts and help teams respond quickly and efficiently, improving collaboration and reducing response time. The real-time alerts, on-call scheduling, escalation policies, and incident management features are particularly valuable, as they ensure the right person is notified and reduce response and resolution times. The integration with our existing tools streamlines incident response and improves operational efficiency. The initial setup was straightforward and the user-friendly interface and documentation helped our team get started quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
PagerDuty is a powerful platform, but the user experience could be made more intuitive, especially for new users. Some advanced configurations and integrations can take time to understand and set up. More guided setup, clearer documentation, and simplified configuration workflows would make the platform easier to adopt. It would also be helpful to have more real-time and customizable analytics for operational reporting.

Exceptional Real-Time Alerts and Escalation Workflows, with Strong Integrations
Reviewed on Oct 02, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
PagerDuty is exceptional at real-time alert aggregation and automated incident escalation workflows. The mobile app makes acknowledging, reassigning, and resolving critical system incidents on the go effortless. Its robust integration ecosystem with monitoring tools like Datadog, CloudWatch, and Slack ensures that on-call engineers are notified immediately, significantly reducing Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) during major outages.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing cost can be fairly steep for growing engineering teams compared to other monitoring add-ons. Additionally, if upstream alerting rules and noise reduction policies are not meticulously configured, on-call schedules can occasionally suffer from alert fatigue due to non-critical duplicate notifications. The learning curve for complex multi-tier escalation policies can also take time to master.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PagerDuty solves critical operational challenges by eliminating single points of failure in incident response workflows. It automatically routes real-time system alerts to the correct on-call engineers, preventing missed critical outages. This streamlines team communication during production incidents, reduces overall downtime, and significantly lowers Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR), allowing engineering teams to maintain high service availability and reliability.

What do you like best about the product?
PagerDuty has been exceptionally reliable for alerting the right person at the right time. Its integrations with tools like Slack, AWS, and Jira feel seamless and make it easy to fit into our existing workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing can feel a bit steep for smaller teams or startups. Also, the initial setup and configuration—especially for more complex escalation policies—can come with a slight learning curve for new team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps eliminate the chaos of figuring out who to contact when a production bug or server crash happens. Without a clear escalation policy, tickets can easily get lost, overlooked, or delayed.
For me, the biggest benefit is how much it streamlines our 24/7 incident management. I can quickly see who’s on call, route and integrate alerts directly into our Slack channels, and coordinate with teammates to resolve outages faster. That, in turn, helps reduce system downtime and keeps incidents from dragging on longer than they need to.
