The product is so good, you cannot do without it after!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MPOC package with zConsole and zDefend.
Modular Security with Easy Integration and Setup
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the modular nature of the Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS), which provides significant flexibility and control. This modularity allows me to easily adapt and change whatever aspects of the suite I need, ensuring that the protection mechanisms work exactly as expected. Additionally, the initial setup of the suite is very easy, streamlining the integration process and enabling efficient use of the software from the start.
What do you dislike about the product?
The diversion generation feature is frustrating because it doesn't include the phishing SDK, necessitating direct requests to Syntharim to build a version specifically for my needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS) for mobile protection, aiding in the detection of mobile threats. Its modularity and control make customization easy, ensuring expected security performance.
Strong Mobile App Protection, But Room for Enhancement
What do you like best about the product?
In the challenging environment faced by mobile applications, Zimperium MAPS offers a substantial layer of protection, helping to safeguard apps against a variety of threats. The security mechanisms provided by the operating system alone are often inadequate for applications that are critical and demand extra measures to secure both data and communications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although there have been many improvements over the years and efforts to simplify things, it remains challenging and time-consuming to keep everything up to date with new releases. The learning curve for newcomers is still quite steep, and ongoing maintenance, along with frequent OS updates, demands extra effort. Ideally, these requirements should be minimized as much as possible.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most important aspects are its key protection and application protection features.
Granular Insights with Integration Hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the granular insights offered by the Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS), which provides detailed visibility into threats and allows for a more thorough understanding of the attack landscape. The ability to monitor tons of threats ensures our applications are protected from a wide variety of potential security breaches. The intuitive zDefend console is particularly impressive, making the process of managing and responding to threats more user-friendly. I value how Zimperium MAPS enables us to take proactive actions against app tampering attempts and to identify specific users attempting such actions. These features stood out to us when we decided to switch from a previous MAPS solution that lacked these capabilities, making them the primary reasons for choosing Zimperium.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS) is not a plug-and-play service; there's significant work required for the integration of the zShield and zDefend SDKs. Additionally, while the zDefend threat detection is excellent, it can overwhelm mobile devices, particularly those with low memory, causing integration challenges. On top of that, the product support needs improvement as the response time is often slow, seemingly because it is only located in the US. This results in waiting for a response that sometimes takes more than 2-3 working days.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS) to protect our mobile apps from attackers, giving us granular insights into threats and enabling proactive responses, solving previous issues with attack visibility and user identification.
Robust Security with Room for Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I find Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS) invaluable for enhancing the security of our Android and iOS apps. The suite offers crucial runtime security and effective threat detection, helping to shield our users from scams and social engineering attacks. The zDefend component stands out for its ease of implementation and the provision of remote controls, which empower our non-technical teams to manage security directly without needing technical support. I appreciate the detection of threats in real-time and the protection against common vulnerabilities such as rooted devices and app signature modifications. While zShield involves a more complex integration process, it offers enhanced security measures during compile time, which is essential in certain scenarios. These features collectively contribute to a robust security infrastructure, making MAPS a reliable choice for our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the compile time increase with zShield, especially for iOS, to be problematic. It has significantly extended our build time from 1 hour to 2 hours, which is quite inconvenient. Additionally, the initial setup of Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS) requires some time to understand and integrate, especially with zShield, which can be cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS) for runtime security and threat detection, protecting users from scams and hacks. zDefend is easy to implement with remote controls for non-tech teams, while zShield guards apps at compile time.
Effective Mobile App Defense with OTA Convenience
What do you like best about the product?
I deeply appreciate the over-the-air updates provided by Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS), which enable us to deploy controls in a timely manner. This capability is fantastic as it alleviates the need for time-consuming SDK upgrade deployments through app stores. It also offers robust protection against threat actors by preventing rooting, tampering, and reversing of our applications. Additionally, the suite provides rich telemetry, giving us valuable insights into mobile security. The initial setup was seamless, greatly facilitated by the knowledgeable support from engineers like Pat Shueh and Vinayak Joshi, making the overall experience exceptional.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the need for SDK upgrades to be a hassle, as they require a rebuild, testing, and redeployment through the App/Play Store. This process could be streamlined by minimizing SDK upgrade deployments and focusing more on over-the-air updates. I wish the architecture or features were more model-centric, allowing us to deploy the model without such frequent SDK updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Zimperium Mobile Application Protection Suite (MAPS) to protect against rooting, tampering, and reversing my apps, while its telemetry provides valuable data. Over-the-air updates enable timely control deployment.
