Strategic portfolio views have improved event planning and support better investment decisions
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The biggest advantage in VenueTwin is that it is a strategic portfolio tool which allows you to connect the strategies of an organization to the portfolio and to the projects, providing a whole view of your organization and where you stand, essentially offering a bird's eye view in OnePlan.
Visualization is helpful in planning events as it shows the dependencies between the projects, illustrating how the projects depend on each other and how you control the projects concerning the portfolio, allowing you to make better decisions related to the projects and choose the right projects to invest in, emphasizing that many factors depend on the dependencies between the projects.
Interactive mapping aids venue management and guest experiences by creating the objects, objectives, and key results, which are then mapped to the portfolio, along with the projects and programs, providing a clear picture of how the project aligns with the strategic goal of your organization.
For collaboration, the real-time collaboration tools, especially the comment tab, improve event logistics planning, allowing you to comment and discuss with your team members at any level, be it within the project or outside at the portfolio level, covering all collaboration aspects including status updates.
What needs improvement?
There are areas for improvement, particularly with the need for features related to Earned Value Management (EVM) and a tracking feature, so OnePlan should enable more tracking-related features that clients expect.
In terms of personalization, I do not see many features in OnePlan beyond just logo change and personal page change.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been selling it for approximately three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
VenueTwin's performance is good, with no issues regarding stability or glitches.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The product is completely scalable; if you use it, it remains scalable.
How are customer service and support?
My experience with technical support from OnePlan has been good, as I have a good contact with their technical service.
I am happy with the experience I have had, as they respond immediately and resolve issues within a day or two.
How was the initial setup?
Installation of OnePlan is easy; there are no complicated procedures involved for the first-time installation, and for integration, there are just some steps to follow, but not for the installation itself—just log in and start using the product.
What was our ROI?
Using OnePlan to its fullest without relying on any other tools allows for potential savings, but if you opt for multiple integrations, you might need to invest more money.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding license and pricing, I would say OnePlan is fair in terms of price.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
When comparing OnePlan products to Microsoft products and other competitors, I note Microsoft Project is a very good tool and a desktop application with all the features necessary for accurate planning down to the day and week. However, OnePlan, as a SaaS tool, does not provide that same level of detailed planning, so clients using Microsoft Project expect similar features in OnePlan.
What other advice do I have?
As a reseller, I have observed that many clients choose OnePlan because of its easy-to-use interface, very interactive features, portfolio-related functionalities, and native integrations, which are leading people to transition from Project Online to OnePlan. I provided a review rating of 8 out of 10 for this product.
