What do you like best about the product?

It's very easy to install and start playing with it. All different types of telemetry logs, metrics, traces, synthetic, RUM, etc., and now even LLM and database monitoring can be done using this single tool, which makes it easy to maintain.

What do you dislike about the product?

It's a great tool, UI can be improved a bit though.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Openobserve is basically allowing us to monitor different things all in a single place without needing different components, and it's easy to get started so we can now focus on development instead of monitoring existing products with AI SRE Agent by OpenObserve.

Super simple to setup and easy for multi-tenancy

The only challenge I see today is UI as that is an important aspect

All our customer's telemetry is easy to be collected and helps search fast.

What do you like best about the product?

I like OpenObserve because the platform is easy to use and very beginner-friendly. I use otel to record traces and logs, and switching from a different vendor to OpenObserve felt hassle-free and straightforward.

What do you dislike about the product?

In today’s world, everything is getting connected to agentic AI, such as Codex and Claude. The fact that OpenObserve doesn’t have a connector is something I really dislike.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenObserve makes observability simpler for me during agile development. I use O2 because it integrates easily with platforms like AWS and GCP, which makes it easier to move between different environments. Its use of OpenTelemetry also gives me a more standardized approach to collecting and managing telemetry data.

What do you like best about the product?

Openobserve is very easy to install and get started to try out different features. They have great support to help you get started when stuck. Easy to maintain as it does not have multiple components to maintain and we got everything we needed in one place

There are a lot of features which gets added every week and the UI keeps changing frequently making it difficult to catch up

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We had huge bills with our earlier tool and that too unexpected way beyond our calculations, OpenObserve solved that for us.

OpenObserve is very easy to install and set up compared to other tools. It brings everything together in one place, so I don’t need to keep switching context. There’s also no proprietary language to learn, which makes switching to it much easier.

The docs aren’t updated as frequently as the features are.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

When we were using Datadog, there were a lot of hidden charges that made the bill very high. OpenObserve’s straightforward pricing has helped us reduce our bill, and it has also lowered the team’s effort spent tuning different ingestions just to save costs.

Single binary makes it easy to maintain. Early i was using LGTM which had four different stacks to maintain. Open observe has made my life easier

Ui can be improved. Although the UI keeps changing frequently

Instead of maintaining multiple different components it's much beneficial to work on single component with Openobserve where everything is combined in one tool

I love the friendly and welcoming community of OpenObserve, which has been a great learning experience and very helpful. The product's code base is well-structured and polished, and even when I run it locally, it's impressive. OpenObserve's technical part is appealing with its ability to integrate into a lot of applications and to customize observability as needed. The fast nature due to Rust is a plus. It provides a comprehensive platform for observability, including AI observability, LLM observability, and more, and offers different solutions for cloud and network monitoring. I appreciate the over 170 official integrations, making it flexible for various use cases. Additionally, the initial setup was easy, thanks to the clear contributing guidelines and standards compliance.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenObserve enhances my understanding of observability with its comprehensive platform, integrating over 170 services. It offers cloud and network monitoring, supports AI and LLM observability, and provides easy setup with structured code and a welcoming community.

What do you like best about the product?

The slim, single runnable binary makes it very easy to deploy, manage, and maintain.

What do you dislike about the product?

The UI and visualization options feel unpolished, especially when compared with more traditional platforms like Grafana.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It’s become a one-stop solution for logs, metrics, traces, and even LLM monitoring. With a solid compression engine, it also helps keep storage costs within budget.

What do you like best about the product?

OpenObserve is very easy to install. I was able to get started with it in a short time by following the guides. And it is very light on compute resources which is one of the key strengths of it. The documentation was also easy to understand and covered what I wanted to know. And when I couldn't find something there, I asked questions in the Slack channel. The OpenObserve team was very responsive and they solved my problems

What do you dislike about the product?

Features are restricted by the pricing tier. E.g. SSO for the dashboard is not available in the free version

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using OpenObserve as one of the Logs and Tracing backends for an opensource software.

What do you like best about the product?

I self-host OpenObserve to collect logs and traces from my projects, and the biggest win for me was how easy it was to get running. It ships as a single binary, and I had it ingesting data within minutes—without having to stand up Elasticsearch or maintain separate Prometheus and Jaeger stacks. It also accepts OpenTelemetry natively, so I simply pointed my existing OTel exporter at it and the data appeared right away.

Having logs, metrics, and traces in one UI saves me a lot of time when debugging, because I can jump from an error log to the related trace in just a couple of clicks. Queries are plain SQL as well, so there’s no new query language to learn. Storage efficiency is another plus: the data is kept as compressed Parquet, which really matters when you’re paying for your own infrastructure.

What do you dislike about the product?

The documentation doesn’t always keep pace with how quickly new versions ship, so I sometimes had to dig through GitHub issues or release notes just to understand a particular setting. Building dashboards also takes more effort than in Grafana, and there are fewer ready-made templates to use as a starting point. On top of that, some of the more advanced features are limited to the Enterprise edition. That said, Enterprise is free below a daily ingestion limit, which feels fair for smaller setups.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

[Before OpenObserve, debugging meant SSHing into servers and grepping log files, and I had no tracing at all.] Now, logs and traces from all my services land in one searchable place, so I can pinpoint the cause of a failed request in minutes instead of digging through scattered files. Running a full ELK or Grafana stack would have cost more to host and would have taken more time to maintain. OpenObserve runs comfortably on a small server, which helps me keep infrastructure costs low as a solo developer.
