Centralized access control has strengthened zero trust security and simplifies role-based audits

  • April 02, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case we have for Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS is centralized authentication across cloud services. It allows us to enforce secure, role-based access to resources in the cloud, whether that is for employees, services, or even IoT devices. It integrates with our identity provider, making cloud resource access both seamless and secure, especially in multi-cloud environments.

One scenario occurred when we had to enforce secure Wi-Fi and VPN access across multiple cloud environments using Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS. By integrating Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS with our identity provider, we ensured only authorized users based on their roles could access administrative cloud dashboards and secure apps. This cut down unauthorized access attempts significantly and made audits straightforward since access was always tied to well-defined policies.

Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS proved invaluable when we implemented Zero Trust networking. We used it to enforce device authentication, ensuring that not only the user, but also the device met security posture requirements before accessing sensitive cloud resources. That made onboarding remote teams smoother and bolstered compliance across our distributed infrastructure.

What is most valuable?

One standout feature of Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS is its integration with existing identity providers, so we can centralize cloud access control easily. Another key capability is role-based access management, letting us tailor access rules for different cloud resources. It is also strong on security, supporting multi-factor authentication and encryption. Additionally, it is highly scalable, making it effective whether we are a small team or a large enterprise.

Role-based access management has been the most valuable feature of Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS for our team. With a complex cloud environment, having fine-grained control over who can access which resources, whether developers, administrators, or services, has been key. It has boosted security, simplified audits, and helped us scale access policies as the team grew.

Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS has had a significant impact on security and efficiency in our organization. By centralizing authentication, we have drastically reduced access misconfigurations. Teams onboard faster with role-based access, so productivity is up. Audits are smoother, and we have strengthened compliance. Overall, it has helped us scale securely without adding complexity.

What needs improvement?

One improvement I would love to see in Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS is an even more user-friendly interface for defining complex policies, especially for larger teams. Sometimes managing nested roles or exceptions could be more intuitive. Additionally, streamlined out-of-the-box integrations with more cloud providers could reduce setup time further. Overall, it is solid, with just some tweaks needed for even smoother scaling.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS in cloud infrastructure setups for several years. It has typically been part of the broader identity and access management solutions we have deployed, ensuring secure authentication, especially for cloud-based environments. I have had extensive experience integrating and managing it in real-world scenarios.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS really stands out in growing environments. As our cloud footprint expanded, it adapted seamlessly, avoiding re-architectures. That flexibility made it easy to stay agile, even as we onboarded new cloud services or regions.

Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS scales very well. As our team grew, we could easily manage more users and cloud resources without reworking the architecture. Its role-based access model and integration with identity providers allow it to expand to more environments, whether that means more cloud accounts, regions, or applications. It is designed to scale with both our infrastructure and our workforce.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS has been responsive and knowledgeable. Whenever we had integration questions or needed help with advanced policies, they were quick to assist. They also provided good documentation up front, so overall we have had a smooth experience when support was needed.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously relied on a mix of local directory services and custom scripts to manage cloud access before switching to Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS. We switched because as we scaled, those solutions became cumbersome and prone to error. Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS offered a centralized, standardized approach, reducing manual overhead and improving security and efficiency as we moved toward a hybrid cloud model.

What was our ROI?

We have definitely seen ROI with Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS. We reduced onboarding time for cloud access by around thirty percent, which translated into several hours saved per employee. We also cut down on access-related security incidents by roughly forty percent, reducing potential breach costs. We did not have to expand our IAM team because the centralized policies made management efficient. Both time and risk reduction made it worthwhile.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS was fair for the value. We had a licensing model based on the number of users, which scaled with our growth. The setup cost mostly involved the time spent integrating with our identity provider and fine-tuning policies. Overall, it was straightforward, and the ongoing costs were predictable, which helped budgeting.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated a few options before choosing Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS. We looked at using Azure AD's native capabilities for everything, as well as some cloud-based identity as a service solutions like Okta. Ultimately, Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS offered the flexibility we needed for our hybrid environment and tighter integration with our existing infrastructure.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend ensuring you have a clear picture of your access roles and policies up front when considering Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS. It is powerful, but the smoother your existing identity structure, the quicker the setup. Also, pilot it with a smaller group to fine-tune your policies, and do not hesitate to lean on their support. They can help you optimize it from day one. Once it is in place, it pays off quickly.

Cloud Infrastructure Services Cloud RADIUS is a great solution if you want to unify cloud access securely across environments. Plan your policies well and make use of their support if needed. Beyond that, it is a solid tool that in my experience made cloud access much smoother and more secure. I would rate this product an eight out of ten.
