You can purchase a variety of AWS Outposts rack configurations featuring a combination of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instance types, Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS) gp2 volume, and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) on Outposts. Pricing for EC2 instances, EBS, and S3 storage are shown below and include delivery, installation, infrastructure service maintenance and software patches and upgrades. You can also increase your EC2, EBS, and S3 storage capacity over time by upgrading your configuration. Contact us to create a custom configuration if you are not able to find a configuration for your unique application needs.

You can purchase Outposts rack capacity for a 3-year term and choose between three payment options: All Upfront, Partial Upfront, and No Upfront. If you choose the Partial or No Upfront payment option, the monthly charges will be due over the 3-year term. Any upfront and monthly charge will apply 24 hours after installation when your Outposts rack capacity becomes available for launching instances.

At the end of your Outposts rack term, you can either renew your subscription and keep your existing Outposts rack(s), or return your Outposts rack(s). If you do not notify AWS of your selection before the end of your term, your Outposts rack(s) will be renewed on a monthly basis, at the rate of the No Upfront payment option corresponding to your Outposts rack configuration.

The Outposts rack configuration price includes delivery, installation, and servicing. Except as otherwise noted, Outposts rack prices are exclusive of applicable taxes and duties, including VAT and applicable sales tax. For customers with a Japanese billing address, use of AWS services is subject to Japanese Consumption Tax. Learn more.

EBS Storage is available in three tiers of 11TB, 33TB, and 55TB or higher. Easily scale from 11TB to 33TB, and 55TB . Above 55TB, you can scale in increments of 15TB (70TB, 85TB, 100TB) up to 100TB. Above 100TB, you can scale in increments of 20TB (120TB, 140TB, etc.) up to 1PB. As you add more EBS capacity to your Outpost, your EBS rate will remain the same based on the tier you choose at the beginning. We recommend selecting a higher tier to benefit from a lower rate if you plan to expand EBS capacity to higher tiers.

Operating Systems

Prices listed above do not include operating system (OS) charges. OS charges will be applied based on usage per instance.

AWS Services

AWS Services running on Outposts rack are priced based on usage by the hour per instance and exclude underlying EC2 instance and EBS storage charges. This means you will not be double charged for the EC2 instances and EBS volumes that these services use. AWS Marketplace Software

AWS Marketplace AMIs are charged at the same price as in the parent AWS Region.

Data Transfer

Data transfer from your Outpost to the parent AWS Region incurs no charge. Similarly, data transfer to and from your Outpost to your local network or to the internet via the Local Gateway (LGW) also incurs no charge. Similar to data transfer charges in AWS Regions, data transfer out charges from the parent availability zone to the Outpost is the same as in AWS Regions. Intra-AZ, inter-AZ and VPC data transfer charges in the AWS Region remain the same. Learn more about data transfer here.
