  • AWS GameDay Challenge is a collaborative learning exercise that tests your skills in implementing AWS solutions to solve real-world problems in a gamified, risk-free environment. This is a completely hands-on opportunity for technical professionals to explore AWS services, architecture patterns, best practices, and group co-operation. Ambiguity and non-prescriptive guidance allow teams the flexibility to think creatively as they navigate a wide array of technical challenges. There is no one right answer; teams pave their own path based on resources we provide them within live AWS accounts. If you enjoy open-ended challenges without step-by-step instructions, look no further.

    Team requirements:
    In order to participate, each team team member is required to register and attend AWS Summit Sydney. An intermediate understanding of AWS services and console is required.

    GameDay participants are required to bring their own laptops

    Spaces are limited for these sessions and will be available on a first come first serve basis.

  • Interactive sessions where you'll be able to build a solution to a problem using AWS. Workshops encourage interaction, and provide you with an opportunity to learn from and teach each other. Each workshop starts with a short lecture by the facilitator before you get hands-on. You must bring your own laptop to participate.

    Essential tips for protecting critical identities

    Everyone has to protect their critical identities from unintended access. In 2023 regulatory requirements mandated MFA for financial institutions, and in 2024 AWS will require MFA for some root accounts. There are more steps you must take to protect against unintended access. This session uses AWS Well-Architected as the basis for a four-part strategy to protect critical identities, and dives into implementation guidance for the strategy in your AWS cloud environment.
